Is there a thread all about waitlist? I thought I saw one a while back but I can't find it now. Its possible my memory is wrong though lol. I need another night in November, and its unavailable so I need to waitlist it/ stalk the website. Thank you :)

One night is the best case scenario for a waitlist, since it's more likely one night opens up vs needing multiple nights open at the same time.
If you are worried about being "homeless" you could first book a backup option or waitlist a different category for that night. Members are allowed 2 ongoing waitlists per use year.

Thank you! Can i cancel the waitlist at anytime? Also, when it asks if they should cancel the current reservation, i can put either one since i don't have a reservation in place for that night, correct?

Yes, you can cancel the waitlist at any time (when making the waitlist you have the option for the waitlist to auto cancel 7 or 30 days out.

You don't want it to cancel a reservation, unless you have a different "backup" room already booked with points.

Great, thank you! Now we wait and cross our fingers :)

One thing a CM once told me about the waitlist is that often it doesn't come through until shortly before 30 days, so don't give up. That's because lots of members know at 4-5 months that they need to cancel, but just don't get "round tuit" until close to 30 days when they say "Oh, C#$%^-I'd better cancel now or we'll be looking at the points going into holding!" Thee's no incentive to cancel 5 months out vs 2 months out, so people tend to keep their reservation just in case.

That makes sense! I actually thought the waitlist would come through closer at the 7month mark when people are trying to change resorts. Maybe wishful thinking on my part. I wouldn't mind booking a room somewhere else with cash though if it doesn't come through, and saving the points for another trip or using my points somewhere else for the night. It seems like majority of the studios are booked for that night though!

Should I be checking with the availability tool if the night becomes available? Or does that only apply to people waitlisting multiple days, since one day might be available- not all?

I do check for availability for my 1 night May waitlist. I have had 1 night waitlists come through more often than not, even around New Years Eve.
