Hello - I have been on a waitlist for a 2br pool view at BWV for 1/1 since 2/6. That's 5 1/2 months!! Should I give up hope? I'm renting points and the person I'm renting from was surprised at 11 months and 5 days that the pool view @BWV was booked. I know it's a busy time but, come on, 5 days after the 11 month mark. :confused3

I was thinking about going to Universal so I might just book a room there for 1/1, since it's at the beginning of our trip, but I hate switching hotels. We did it last year and said never again.

Will the day just appear on my reservatioon if it comes through? Also, Any thoughts about whether this waitlist will come through?

Unfortunately there is no way for you to know if the owner really tried to move you.

:earsboy: Bill

If it is your first night, I would book something as a back up, as there is no way to know. If you want to keep the wait list in place, then just book something that gives you the ability to cancel without penalty. Waitlists expire either 31 or 7 days out from the date.

I am surprised that the owner put in a wait list for your--unless you did book something else for the night already, as it ties up those points since the owner must have points in their account in order for a waitlist to fill.

I'm also very surprised the owner put in a wait list. I've only rented my points a couple of times but I would never tie up my points on a wait list. Do you have something else booked that will be replaced if the wait list comes thru?
Has any money changed hands?

It'd be hard to imagine that a single night didn't come through at BWV for the most available and least demanded view type WL almost 11 months out.

I'm booked for 1/1-1/7, and 1/1 is on a waitlist but my reservation only shows 1/2-1/7, which is fine because I only paid a 25% deposit.

I don't have another day booked that would replace the waitlist. My reservation online shows 1/2-1/7, but I only gave a 25% deposit. So if 1/1 doesn't come through I'll adjust the final payment.

I think I will book a room at universal as a backup

Yes, that's what the dvc owner that I'm renting from said. He said he thinks Disney may be holding out on rooms but I don't know anything about that.
