Waitlist strategy: split or single stay?

We're hoping to make a 4-night WDW trip in six months. Right now there is not much available at the resorts we like.
I'm wondering about waitlist strategy; would we have better luck making 2 four-night waitlists (at different resorts) for a single stay, or 2 two-night waitlists for a split stay?
In other words, would we have more luck getting a single 4-night stay or two 2-night stays?

Any thoughts or experiences are appreciated.

Def easier to hit a 2 nighter vs a 4 nighter for waitlist.

But split stay for a 4 night trip don't sound that great. You will be homeless for 1 day, and basically live out of your suitcase.

If possible. Get the 2 nighter. Call and see if cash is available at the same place, same category, therefore don't need to change room. Waitlist

Thanks.
I think on moving day we'd be in a park all day and have bell services transfer our luggage, so it wouldn't be too horrible.
The bonus is that we'd have a fully cleaned room with beds made. 8-)

If it works for your family then do it! Which 2 resorts you doing?

The kids want either VGF resort studio, BWV, or BCV.
Was able to get a 1-bedroom at BWV for the first two nights as a placeholder, but don't want to spend that many points.
Was thinking I'd do waitlist for 2 nights each at VGF resort studio and BCV studio.

However, we recently did a 1-bedroom stay at BRV and really loved that extra space... :P

I'd put in the 4 nights as a single, 2 days and move split sounds like more trouble than its worth.

I'd think you have a high chance of one of your two waits hitting for 4 days depending on when and where you are wanting.

Could be lots of availability hitting sooner or later if the commercial crackdown really does happen.

Thanks for weighing in.
What do you mean by the commercial crackdown? 🤔

DVC updated the commercial use policy for the first time since 2011. It is detailed and not only includes actions by owners that can lead DVC to decide you are using your membrrhip as a commercial enterprise but all things that can happen during enforcement.

One is canceling of reservations so that would have the potential to have more rooms show up.
