Waitlist & Resort Stay Question

Hi everyone! When booking at the 7-month window, am I able to fully search my preferred resort and dates, have them selected, then click book right at 8 AM or do I need to wait to search until 8 AM?

Also, I am using the last of my use-year points and have enough for either 5 nights in a preferred studio room at Saratoga Springs or 4 nights in a studio at Beach Club. Beach Club only has the four consecutive nights available. I could stalk DVC Rental Store for an extra one night at Beach Club reso, but I know those are hard to come by. We'll only be going to Hollywood Studios and Epcot (might get hoppers to hop to MK in the AM), and then want to do one monorail resort hopping day. If we stay an extra night at Saratoga, we'd do Disney Springs/pool day. My boyfriend hasn't been to Disney in years and I really want to make the trip special for him! What would you all do?

If I wanted to take the BCV, then I’d do a cash night with Disney…or even try via MS for cash… the 5th night and ask to not change rooms.

You could then put in a request for the 5th night renting and cancel the cash up to 8 days before check in and get your money back.

But, it is hard to beet BCV for Epcot and HS days so I’d probably opt for that and hope for the best.

You can also try to purchase some OTU points fo use for the nights you get and free up your own points for a waitlist too.

Search at 8 AM, or else you’ll have to search again when it starts.
I would stay at Saratoga for the extra night if time is important to you, or else stay at Beach Club for the excitement of walking to the parks you really want to do!

Sandi, I have a OTUP question for you. I have a DEC UY and bought MMB for this year. I bought the max OTUP for a November trip when I booked 7 months out. When am I eligible to buy OTUP again? I don’t understand if it’s 7 months out for any date after Dec 1, 2025, or if I have to wait until 2026 and renew MMB to buy them at a discount again?

There are two things in play.

OTU points can be bought per UY, up to 24. So, a Nov 2025 trip is in your Dec 2024 UY.

So, you are eligible to buy them for your 2025 UY, even now.

However, the MMB only allows you to buy one set of BOGO free OTU points during the membership period…which is calendar year.

You hafe already taking advantage of that benefit.

So, the next set of discounted OTU points you can purchase will be once you buy it for 2026 and then can use them in your 2025 UY, providing you don’t buy them now at full price.
