waitlist question

We own at SSR and have booked there for October. We're also waitlisted for a Thurs and Friday night in a BCV studio, so we can be close to the Food & Wine Festival. I called at exactly the 7 month mark, but had to waitlist. MS cannot tell me where we are on the list because it's computerized. But we're down to 4 months and haven't heard anything.
What do you think our chances are of this waitlist coming through for us? We've never tried waitlisting before.

Since you have a back up at SSR, don't give up until at least 31 days prior to arrival. That's when members who aren't really sure of their plans have to cancel or they risk their points going into the holding account.

Waitlists are funny. 2 weeks ago I called MS to look into possibly changeing our dec reservation to Vero in October, they said I could do it, but my waitlist had come through! But I hadn't received a telephone call? I waited 2 weeks still never got a call, but was able to confirm with my inlaws that they would join us. So I called Ms and yup, was able to get the dates? I asked why I hadn't received a call, and they said it takes them a long time to contact everyone?

Now I'm even MORE confused - when I made my original reservations and waitlisted, he told me I'd be notified by MAIL. Never mentioned that we'd be called. I'm glad we have the backup plan!

When you go on the waitlist you can either have them automatically take the reservation and mail your confirmation letter, or call you to confirm first.
