Good morning all,

It's been a while since I've had to waitlist for our DVC reservation but here we are - for a fall trip this Oct.
In the past (3 -4 years ago) it was always better to actively check the DVC availability online (vs the automated member services waitlist option). Just wondering what the best strategy is these days if I need a couple unavailable days in the middle of an 8 day vacation. Would you formally waitlist, or just keep checking booking options multiple times a day for sudden availability?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions - we are sooooooo looking forward to getting back to WDW..... last trip was spring 2019

I’ve had equal success with both waitlist and stalking recently. If you need two nights, waitlist them separately. Single nights are more likely to come thru than longer stays. Book back up reservation(s) for the missing nights and set the waitlists up to replace those backups in the event that your waitlist work out. Then stalk by choosing the “modify” option for the backup nights.

thanks this is very helpful - I didn't know we could set waitlists up like this- cheers

Put in the waitlist and stalk at the same time. I always do both.

I am doing that now. I am looking for 2 bedroom standard for 4 days in August at GF and it seems like only the Mondays are gone and of course I need Sat, Sun, Mon and Tue
