Waitlist question

I have a room booked at AKL for 2 nights in March, but I've waitlisted those nights at BWV. My question is can I still do on-line check-in? What happens if my waitlist comes through? Thanks for your help. This will be our first DVC trip.

I think you can do online check in at AKL, or is it AKV, without any worries. If the WL comes through I would just do another online check in for that resort.

Online check in doesn't really have much benefit IMO. It is a process implemented by Disney to get the guest to commit to a vacation and to reduce the wait checking in at the larger resorts.

DVC added the functionality to the DVC website because it seems like an added benefit for members.

In reality the room folders aren't usually made up in advance, it doesn't really shorten the check in time and on occasion the line is longer if you used online check in.

I wouldn't worry about the waitlist messing up your online check in.

You could always wait until the last minute for online check-in. To give the other side of the coin of what has been stated, I see it as nothing but positive. Our last four stays the folder has been ready and last two they had all our requests met. Skipped a long line in three of those stays as well. It's benefits far outweigh any negatives which have been nonexistent for us.
