Waitlist question

I've never booked a room with dvc in such a short notice, but I just booked at SSR today for a studio villa from the oct 30th-nov 3rd. I got waitlisted for BLT and BWV. Here's my question: Why are these rooms available for a cash reservation and not available to me, the dvc member? If no one books with cash, will dvc give these rooms to dvc members?

I will be on the wailist until oct 22, would it be worth my time to call everyday to check availability at another resort? I don't have anything against SSR, it just doesn't have that "disney" feel I enjoy at the other resorts.

When we wait listed last November, I called everyday and booked it day by day as they came up rather then waiting for all the days in a row show up. Eventually we filled the week and were good to go. You may want to consider it, but the only downfall would be moving from one resort to another if you can't get some days. Start by trying to book either the first or last day and go from there.

DVC rooms for rent, this will always happen. There is a certain percentage of rooms that CRO can rent. They will not fall back into DVC's hands.

I have been on Waitlist since August for Oct. 28th thru Nov. 2nd Studio at BLT.....SV or LV and no luck yet. I am hoping pixie dust comes my way and we get something.....We too are at SSR.

Hopefully, your waitlist comes through. I recently made a reservation and was missing a few nights and the waitlist came through 48 hours later. I called DVC and didn't wait to hear from them. I would call them frequently checking to see if the waitlist came through.

Good luck to you.

Because a member at that resort decided they wanted to trade out for the DCL or one of the other Disney resorts or ABD and traded their points to do so. Plus DVC owns a small percentage of the resort to use if they have to take rooms out of service for maintenance or renovation. If they don't need to do that, those points get transferred to DRC to sell the room for cash.

They never come back to DVC points because they have already been used for DVC points (for the non-DVC reservation).

I also forgot the portion of the resort that hasn't been sold yet. Since it isn't owned by members for points, it must be sold by DRC. So anyone who wants to stay in BLT for cash through DRC, needs to do it before it gets sold out because it will get much harder to stay there after it sells out.
