Waitlist Question

We recently added on with points at Wilderness Lodge. Of course, these fresh points are burning a hole in my pocket, so I'm taking my mom to Disney for an early Mothers' Day present the first weekend in May. Since it was a spur of the moment decision, I had to waitlist for WL. I have stayed at OKW before, and I think it's lovely, but I really want to stay at my new "home". So my question is: at this point, do I have any chance?

There's always a chance - but since the 31 day mark has already passed, it's not a good chance. Remember that the waitlists are "eliminated" at the 7 day mark. At that point, if you still want to stay at the VWL (but haven't gotten that reservation yet), call MS at least once a day to see if something has opened up. At 7 days and closer to day of arrival, it's strictly luck - if something opens up, the first person to ask gets the room.

Actually, the 31 day llist comes up this week. You can still wait though. I would book at SSR and wait list for WLV if I were you. Actually we did just that for the exact same reason. We just got extra points that were burning a hole in our account as well. DH suggested a trip for Mother's day. We booked BWV for 2 nights and SSR for 2. We also double booked BWV for the last night but could not get Mother's Day . Our wait just came through on Thurs, so we just cancelled SSR.

The 31 day mark for Mother's Day (5/12 & 5/13) does comes up this week, but the OP said their trip was for the first weekend in May which is 5/5 & 5/6. The 31 day mark for that has already passed.

Thanks for the input!
We stayed at OKW last year when we snuck down for the Expedition Everest opening and thought it was charming. Also, 58 verses 71 points means Steve and I can probably sneak down and eat at Alfredo's before it closes.
