Here's my question;

If I am looking to book online at the seven month window, lets say I want to book seven consecutive nights, numbered nights #1 through #7. If the resort shows that nights #1 through #4 are not available but nights #5 through #7 ARE available, I am only offered the option of waitlisting the entire stay. If I do opt to waitlist the entire stay, are nights 5,6 and 7--which are available at the time I waitlist--a definite reservation regardless of what happens with the first four nights, or do I get those last three nights ONLY if all of the first four night eventually come through?

Any clarification is appreciated.

In the example you gave, you cannot try to reserve nights 5 -7 until the 7 month window for night 5 opens. The nights 5-7 stay in inventory available for the home resort owners to reserve and then available to anyone when the 7 month window opens.

I'd waitlist the entire vacation, then try again when the window opens for night 5 and if available, I'd reserve nights 5 -7. Then I'd change my waitlist to be for nights 1 -4 only. I think you have to call MS to change the waitlist.

Wait lists fill exactly the way they are set up so if you set up a 7 night wait list, it will only fill when all 7 nights are available, even if #5 - 7 were available at the start.

As mentioned, your best best would be to book those nights when the 7 month window opens for them and then adjust the wait list to reflect what you still need.

Good luck!!
