I am new to DVC and not sure how the waitlist processes. So far I have beat my waitlisted rooms twice. This may be complete good fortune and timing but I don't know enough about the waitlist.

How often does Disney programming cause the system to search and reserve rooms through the waitlist? Are there certain times each day it runs?

The thing is that when a waitlist matches, it then has to be processed by a CM. That can take days. There is no way to know when that occurs because the website doesn’t tell you,

So, it’s very possible when you beat the waitlist that you also had the room It’s happened a lot to me over the years.

But, we still don’t know how often it does run and that is why people stalk.

That makes it sound like it is greater luck to get a Waitlist processed then to actually stalk and get it yourself.

In a lot of cases, that is true. I think most of us who stalk have (at least once) found our waitlist request by stalking (meaning the WL didn't pick it up).

i stalked my own waitlist resi and booked it myself multiple times within the past week. setting and forgetting a waitlist might be a decent option if you don't want to check the site frequently or aren't super invested in the outcome.

Strange happenings last night, I rang MS about unrelated issue and they confirmed a waitlist was matched. Thing is I put that waitlist on in October, that's not a coincidence.
I was about to cancel that waitlist but maybe everyone is better to ring first to see if it's in the pending pile of unprocessed matches.

I think it just supports that without something on the website to show it is pending, you can’t assume.

Glad it was ready. I wonder if CMs can see when the match happened to give us an idea of how long it’s taking to process them.

Pretty sure they work the matches in order of arrival. If the phones are busy, the matches for reservations with "distant" arrival dates just sit because most CMs get assigned to the phones/chat.

We don't travel until August and the first night we get there until very late so waitlisted a value studio before we move next morning. I just assumed it was never going to match and was ready to book something else. Very surprised to find it was sitting matched but not booked. Have to say MS were great sorting contract transfers, bookings and wait lists. I even asked about VGF but they are not allowed to speculate sadly.
