Waitlist problem...No written confirmation??

Hello all,

Quick question concerning the waitlist procedures. When you make a reservation that involves the waitlist, does MS email or provide a written confirmation that you are being waitlisted for any portion of your reservation? Long story short, I made a reservation back in June for Thanksgiving week this year at SSR that would require a waitlist for the last three nights. I told MS that I would like to make the reservation as is (for the first 4 Nts.)and I would have to talk to the other party(traveling with another family)concerning the waitlist. Thought I made myself clear that I did not want to waitlist at this time.

Well, I just received an updated reservation confirming 2 more of the nights! I didn't think I was waitlisted, and now, I have a couple of issues concerning the borrowed points used and dining reservations.

I am considering contacting MS to see if there is any chance of reverting back to the original reservation without any penalties imposed(inability to return them to my 11'UY) on my borrowed points, or more importantly, any chance of losing the ressie altogether during the time it takes to make the new reservation.

Any advice or information would be appreciated.

I did not receive any written confirmation when I went on a WL. Nor did I receive a written confirmation when my WL came through. If you have a question about your points usage, definitely give MS a call.

There is no confirmation of the waitlist sent or that you can see online. DVC does record its calls and link them to you (much for these types of instances) and you can contact a supervisor who can listen to the call with MS and confirm what you told them at that time. If you did indeed tell them not to waitlist they should be able to fix it, but if they find that you agreed they would probably be reluctant to change it.

If you are planning to drop some of the days you should be able to get them to use the borrowed points first and then IF you are within your banking period you can bank this years points into the 2011 UY. Good luck - let us know how you make out after you call MS
