Waitlist possible for HHI for July 4 week?

We finally decided that we can go to HHI for July 4 week Tues - Thurs night and then stay offsite for Fri and Sat. I could have booked a studio Tues night way back in Jan '05 but then had to be waitlisted for Wed & Thurs. I chose not to then. I called MS last week to be on the waitlist. I asked for either a studio or a 1BR. It seems nobody is going to rent out their spot for that week. Do I have a chance now on visiting HHI during that week?

I'm reading all those HHI activity threads and I am looking forward to seeing HHI instead of going to BWV that same week. I can see myself sulking in a 45 minute park ride line thinking that I can just be plopping myself on HHI's beach.

I hate to rain on anybody's parade, but I would not think that you are going to get it. I would get on the waitlist, keep watching the Rent/Trade boards, and I would make a backup plan. Actually, even for WDW I would get on the reservation pretty fast - they get pretty busy for July 4th week. Last year we wanted to spend our 10th Anniversary at HH and it was in June. I was able to get Friday and Saturday nights at the 7 month window (probably because the points were so high) and waitlisted for any nights to extend, either Thursday or Monday. Got Thursday at 60 days out, nothing else ever became available ( and that was not a holiday).

Can you swing a 2 bedroom and waitlist for that instead? Someone said that there are far more 2 bedroom units than 1 BR at HH. It might increase your chance for the waitlist. Not sure how many studios there are, though someone else probably does.
