Waitlist Notification

I am on the waitlist for the last night of a pre-Thanksgiving vacation at BWV. Is the only way for me to get notification of the date becoming available to wait for the confirmation letter in the mail stating so?

I don't want to call MS and bother them. Will the availability also be noted on-line on the member's website?

You can check on the member site by clicking on "vacation details." You can also tell by checking your available points, assuming that the waitlisted room changes the number of points used for the total reservation. I have done this often. I hate bothering MS. Good luck on that waitlist!

When I have a waitlist, I regularly check the "View Vacation Details" in the website. I find it's easier this way. And to my knowledge, this is updated immediately if the waitlist comes up. MS always suggests checking this because the confirmation letter takes a while to get to you.

A related question-

I need to borrow points to reserve the final day. Will MS do this automatically with the waitlist, or should I have authorized this when I set it up? I don't recall them asking me permission to borrow when I set it up. I am guessing that they would assume the need to borrow would give them the authority to borrow?

I have done waitlists a few times and they have always asked me where the points will be coming from (I have 2 memberships and 3 different resorts). They have also asked if I wanted to borrow the points in some instances because it's a final transaction and you have to give them authorization for this. It may be helpful to call and just find out what is in your waitlist and where the points will be taken.

I also would recommend calling to make sure that MS knows you have authorized borrowing. It would be a shame if there were some confusion and the next person on the waitlist got the reservation because MS did not have clear instructions. It seems to me that the MS CM should have mentioned this issue, but since that didn't happen, call MS. Once again, GOOD LUCK on the waitlist!
