Waitlist Newbie

Can anyone answer or give opinions on a couple questions?

1. I have a 1 bedroom at VWL booked for a Tues and Weds night during F&WF. The Monday night wasn't available (I believe it's Columbus Day), so I booked a studio and waitlisted the one bedroom. I'm thinking that we have a decent chance of getting our waitlist? Thoughts?

2. Friends are staying at BLT during that time. I wanted to waitlist all three days at BLT standard view as a second option. Can you waitlist two categories as your second option? (i.e. can I waitlist both standard and lake views?) Or can you only waitlist one category? Or do you have to waitlist all three categories? I would have asked the CM all of this, but quite frankly, she was a bit curt, and I'm thinking she may have been new at the job.

That's a busy week (lots of southern schools have the week containing Columbus Day off from school) and it's quite late in the booking window. I think you were lucky to get the studio, but 1 bedrooms are less popular than studios, so you never know. Hope the waitlist works for you.

You will have to pick one category (standard or lake or MK view) for your second waitlist. Lake view has the most rooms of the 3 booking categories.

It's good to know that Lake View has the most rooms. That would be 99 points. Hmmm. After blowing a bunch of points for a one bedroom SV at AKV in March, again, for just two of us, I'm feeling a little point stingy. But all that room in a one bedroom is just so nice.

I would also suggest you check availability online as often as you can. There have been reports of people finding rooms they are wait listed for available online. There is a theory that canceled rooms can show up as available as soon as they are cancelled until some one at member services looks for any wait listed rooms and then books them. So every chance you have a few min to look, check with the online availability!

You can waitlist online. First try to book what you want. Then, assuming some or all of it is not available, look for the "do you want to waitlist" link(s) under the availability. Then it's easy to follow the directions.

Well that didn't take long! About a week?

Our waitlist came through. We now have a one bedroom for all three nights.

Now to decide if I want to waitlist BLT, and if so, what category. Hard decision. It would be nice to be in the same resort with our friends, but we are also excited about staying for our first time at VWL.
