Waitlist is driving me crazzzzzzy!

Am I the only one that is OBSESSED with checking the member website multiple times a day to see if my waitlist has come through? AHHHHH!

I never do that. I have MS call me when my waitlist comes through. I prefer to know about it before they do anything with my points.

Wow! I didn't realize that with all the new features you could check current reservations, too -- just never noticed! I'm on a waitlist for BCV for 3/29-3/31, so I've been harassing MS every other day for the last week or so. So now, I'll be just like you. I know MS will call to tell me about the change, but I can't have them call me at work, so this'll be great.

Yes, that's me, too! It's the first thing I do (after checking emails) each evening. I don't want them to have to call me to confirm first, so I opted to have them make the change and then notify me afterwards. I figured the website would be updated before I got the confirmation letter. There's probably quite a few of us out there checking that website each day. Good luck with your wl.

I was driving my self absolutely crazy!!! I was checking and checking... Finally, I rented the five points I needed from a great Diser and upgraded my reservation to a resort with all five nights I needed (which just happened to be SSR). I am now relaxed. I guess I am not a good waitlister.

Where EXACTLY on the member website can you look to see if your wait list has been confirmed or not? I guess that it would show up in the activity detail? I am currently on an auto wait list for a boardwalk view one bedroom for May.

It's not about calling back to confirm, though I did lose a waitlist that way because I didn't get the message -- I'm fine with them automatically making my change. It's about wanting to know as soon as it happens!

I needed one night at BWV, standard studio, automatic waitlist, and it came through in about 3 weeks. That's good because I spent lots of time checking the Members Website, now I can get things done.

I got off the phone w/MS this morning. I changed my SSR res for October to VWL, but I really wanted BCV ('cause we've never stayed there...) I got on a waitlist and she said they would call. I said can I check it on the website and she said no. Now I am reading this thread so I'm a tad confused. I'll have to go check the website, I guess....don't like getting misinformed though (if I did).
Also, she told me they can't see the waitlist. Is this true? I was going to have her compare BCV and BWV to see if I had a better chance at one or the other. SHe said they can't tell...

I don't know if this helps, but just last week I decided to change my reservations from HH to OKW for NEXT month, spring break April 9-13. Well, when I called, there were only 3 nights available at OKW. The next morning I called to see if they were still available, they were, so I took them and waitlisted for the 4th night. As the cm was confirming all (3 nights at OKW, 1 night at HH), he checked again and the 4th night became available--as we were speaking!

So, if I were you, I'd call back daily because you never know.

It's not really "checking the waitlist" online, more checking the current reservation. The very second that your waitlist comes through and your reservation is switched to BCV the member site will reflect that and your current vacation will show BCV instead of VWL. It is my understanding that they can not check your waitlist "position" - I think it is a bit complicated and not as simple as something like "you are 4th on the list". I think that people waitlisting for many days at a time instead of day by day affect the way waitlists are fulfilled but I could be completely off on that. It is also my understanding that we are not suppossed to call and check the status of the reservation as that only ties up lines and CMs, it doesn't actually effect any change to the reservation, only gives you knowledge a bit earlier than the mail provides the confirmation. That is what is so great about the website, I fully admit to loggin in twice a day in December after they launched it obsessively checking on our vacation, "Did my BCV 1BR come through? No! Darn it!" LOL. I know how to drive myself .

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for filling me in. Although the CM at MS said they would call to ask me when the waitlist comes through, so I'm not sure if mine would be there automatically. Hmmm.

No, it won't show up until you approve it. You can do it either way, if you prefer automatic you can call them and have them change it or keep it as is. I did automatic because I often times don't receive my messages in a timely manner and I didn't want to miss the time window to return the call. I hope it comes through for you! We're planning on going again in October but we want VWL, LOL. I have to wait until next Tuesday for the 7 month window though.

Thanks for the info. I'm new to waitlisting, and pretty new to DVC too. But I can't believe how much info is on these boards. It's an amazing resource.

I'll be happy at VWL, or anywhere really. I figured I would waitlist BCV 'cause we've never stayed there and I have a lot of friends that love the place. We've stayed at VWL, but in the hotel, not DVC. And we also loved SSR, but just went there in Jan. IMO, you can't go wrong anywhere!
