I am going to be book a 2 BR at BCV at the 11-month window for Oct 2007. However I would really like a GV at OKW for the same week so I have a couple of questions.

At the 7-month window can I change my reservation if a GV is available?

If not available can I waitlist?

If the waitlist comes through does MS cancel my BCV reservation and change it automatically?

Thanks in advance, as I'm new to the DVC. This will be my first trip using my own points.

Yes, you can cancel the BWV reservation and reserve the GV at 7 months - based on availability.

If not available, you can go on the waitlist.

You can have MS set up the waitlist anyway you'd like. If you have enough points, I'd suggest leaving your BWV reservation intact and then use the automatic/daily waitlist for the GV. That way they will add a day to your reservation as each day becomes available. If you don't do it that way, you will not get your reservation unless the entire stay becomes available at once and you are at the top of the waitlist. If you don't have enough points for both reservations at once, you can instruct them to cancel a day of the BWV reservation as each day is added to the GV - but that opens the possiblity that you would need to move during your stay.

If you get on the waitlist right at 7 months (and I would grab any days of the GV that are available at that time), I think you'll stand a good chance of getting the entire stay. October is usually a busy month, so it may not all be available when you first call.

Good luck! :)

Wink,
We had the same problem for our next vacation
Instead of taking a chance of GV being available at 7 month window I posted my need to rent points for an OKW for reservation
OKW owner rented points to me & made reservation for me
I in turn rented out My BWV points to repay myself
That's what I like about the flexability of DVC ownership
