What is the best strategy for hopefully picking up any cancellation during the coming week?

If you are within ten days the resorts will sometime, while rarely, allow cash rooms to be released to DVC. The wesite states to call within 10 days to check availability. Sometimes if you are very nice and ask they will call and check with the resort for a room. I happened for us once and we were so happy
