Okay I'm booked at THV for Spring Break 2011 but, after worrying about the bus to get to a bus, and the distance to get to anywhere, I'm leaning toward changing to waitlist for either BWV or BCV, if possible, to be closer to Epcot (and one bus away from other places). My question is when should I actually call to get on the waitlist - is it exactly 7 months out for arrival day or do I have to waitlist each day for six days?? I really don't want to waitlist day by day as we are a group of 11 and I can't imagine doing split stays, 2 days here, then 2 days there, then back at the other place for 2 days etc..

I thought I read on the boards where you shouldn't call in to change immediately to another DVC that looks available for the moment because they have to cancel your existing reservation before they can make the new reservation and you could be stuck in limbo for that time period and you might end up with nothing!!!! ARRRGGGG! Is that still true?

What's the best way to do this??? Thanks!!

You don't have to call day by day. You can call right at your 7 mo booking window. I called at the 7 mo for spring break - the end of March. We also had THV booked. We actually wanted a split stay - so our first 4 nights are still at THV and then switched the last 3 to BCV. They had all 3 categories of 2 bdrm available. I can't believe I got a dedicated 2 bdrm with 2 queen beds. There seems to be quite a bit of availabilty, so I would call and see. If there is plenty available, you won't have to worry about cancelling your reservation.:goodvibes

We had the same worries about THV but ,really, it was so easy! The buses always seemed to be there for us at the THs and then it's the normal wait at SSR. And all but one driver would drop us off at our treehouse on the way back, as there were usually only 1 or 2 familes on the bus.

PS They're gorgeous! And that extra bedroom was nice, too. :goodvibes

I wouldn't worry about the distance to anything. If you look at the map, half of the THV resort is about the same distance as just the parking area of Grandstand...LOL

I think a lot of people make a big deal about it, but it isn't bad. I would just suggest that you request to be near the South bus stop, it will put you pretty close to the walkway to grandstand and you only have to do one bus. Even walking from the north wouldn't take too long.

A lot of people make a big deal out of nothing....and many people are absolute bus snobs, so a thought of not having a car or even taking two busses is just outrageous! You will love the THV's!
