Waitlist does work . . . kinda

I got on a waitlist for a 1BR SV at either Jambo or Kidani - a couple months ago. Today is 32 days out, and it just came through. It's the second time a waitlist has come through close to the 30-day mark. So, I guess it is worth getting on the list and waiting.

The only glitch in this automatic system (and I've heard this from others) is the points. I borrowed from next year to make the original reservation. This room is less points, so I've got 10 points extra that have to go somewhere. Does the system put them back into next year - NO!?! It leaves them in this year so they can expire in a couple weeks. Except that I pay attention, and notice these things. I'll call MS when they open this morning and have it fixed -- I just wonder why they can't get the computer to do this automatically. Hey, at least I've got my AK room!!

Borrowed points cannot be put back to their original use year. If you used some current use year points then those can be banked, but if you used all borrowed points you will need to figure out a way to use those points before your new use year begins.

I like this post! I'm at about the 34 day mark on my BWV waitlist. I have a backup room at the Dolphin if it doesn't come though, so it;s not life or death, but I would love Boardwalk!

Yep, no glitch. When you are borrowing they are very specific in telling you it's a final transaction. But as jekjones mentioned if you used currrent points and can still bank then you can get them to reallocate and bank.

It's one of those things to consider when you are borrowing and waitlisting for a room that is less points. And if it had happened at less than 30 days then the points would have been in holding without the ability to bank even. Another thing to consider when they ask if you want the waitlist to go to 31 days or 7.

I am on a waitlist for VWL 1bd for Dec 13. Since my waitlisted room is more points, no biggie, MS made sure to make me aware of that since I asked her to change my WL to a 7 day WL.

Me too, it proves that there is hope! I've got an SSR reservation but waitlisted for BCV and VWL just to try something different. We are still over 100 days out but I've been hoping that come close to that 30 day cancellation mark something comes through! <fingers crossed>
