My understanding is that if you go on the wait list for a sold out resort and it comes up after a price increase you get it for the price it was when you went on the list?

If that is true do you think that Disney might look at the list and say ok this person is on the list for $88 at BCV and the contract is at $84 so... it doesn't make sense for DVC to purchase it?

First of all, when you go on the list, it is for the current price that Disney sets. For sold out resorts, the price now is $96, so if Disney can get a contract for $84 they might take it. It depends upon how many people are on the list for that resort and for that use month. If anyone is still on the list from back when points were $88, they probably should start thinking about a resale instead. :thumbsup2

Some have and some have NOT had this happen.
I wouldn't count on it as being a "rule" ;)

I would imagine that they definitely do this, but I would also expect that they check to see whether that person normally finances their DVC. Even if they took a loss of $1 or $2 per point on the "price", the value of the interest would exceed it.

It is $92 for current owners, correct?

It is $92 until the end of June for existing DVC members. You can lock in the price at $92 before it goes to $95. You get the price for one roll back period if the price increases while you are on the waitlist.

This happened to me, so here is dirrect personal experience. I was waitlisted nearly 7 months for Dec UY BCV points (Still waitlisted for Sept UY BTW), and there was one price increase (to $92.00pp), I got mine for $89.00pp. However, when I spoke to my guide, she said, Disney will waive only 1 price increase while you are on the waitlist. So if my Sept UY BCV Points ever materialize, I could be paying $92.00 pp or $89.00 depending if it is before July or not.

Hope this helps.

I was supposedly put on the wait list for Feb points at BVC at $92 per point, the price as of the end of March for non owners.

I found out on Friday that my Guide had quit and another guide told me that in spite of giving a credit card number, I was never put on the list. The supervisor in charge then put me on the list as of the original date logged in their files and indicated my price would still be $92 per point until Disney next raises the prices which would most likely be sometime eary next year.

Hopefully I will not have to wait too long although I'm not sure how long the list is. They indicated they sold a lot of points during Easter week to DVC members as add ons, which is their biggest week.
