I am looking to book in a Studio at any of the DVC on WDW during the first two weeks of December. They are fully booked, so I am on a wait list. What do you think my odds are getting in one. Also, when do more of the cancellations happen, 30 day, 60 day, 90 day or longer?

I can't give you exact odds, but my feeling is that yours are pretty good. You have a lot of time before your dates and many people make reservations and then cancel them for one reason or another. Most are cancelled by the 31 day deadline, but some people cancel at the last minute. I have only struck out once on the waitlist and my most recent "score" was last week for 7/3/03. Persistance is the key :).

If you have the "guts" for it you may want to pick your favorite resort and go day-by-day at that one instead of waiting for you entire stay to become available.

Good luck!

I'm in the same boat as you! I read every post that has the word "Waitlist" in it to see other story and experiences.

We went on the wait list for BWV 2 bedroom Standard view one week after the 11 month window for Nov 30 thru Dec 5!! After I made my 1 bedroom reservation, my DH invited his DB and his family so now we need a 2 bedroom...

Well, since I first did the waitlist, I got Dec 2nd thru 5th and I'm still waiting on Nov 30 and Dec 1 which are waitlisted together because I'm too afraid I'll get Nov 30 and never get Dec 1 and it would be a pain to move...I'll bet my chances would have been better separating those 2 nights but I don't want to take the chance.

I read on another thread that someone got my nights at the 7 month window (2 bedroom standard) doing day by day and I was very upset and disappointed by this news. It leads me to believe the waitlist procedure is not perfect and completely fair. How could she get my nights in May when I've been waitlisted since January? Oh well...

Good luck to us both!

beattyfamily-- if that person waitlisted day by day and got them one at a time, then that's why they got those dates. You waitlisted both together so until both dates become available at the same time for the same 2 BR then your waitlist request won't even be considered. It stinks, but you may want to give "the pain of moving" some thought.

You can also call MS or CRO and see if that have any CASH availability for your one night (12/1). I'm not sure how things work when the units are filled with DVC members, but it's worth a shot.
