I've been waiting 3 days to hear if I've secured 2 studios at Floridian late Jan-early Feb. is this a normal wait? Getting nervous that I need to come up with plan b.

There are very few studios at the Grand Floridian, and most are gone the day they come available. It's unlikely a broker would be able to fulfill this request unless you made it before the 11 month window opened and even then it would be a problem snagging two studios. If you are set on the Grand Floridian, you should consider going up to a 2 bedroom (yes, a lot more points). If you aren't set on the Grand Floridian, you could probably easily find two studios at many of the other properties, as you are 10 months away and when you are going isn't high demand.

You are still outside of the seven months "all points are equal" booking time. Like at least two and half months from that point. I doubt if the brokers get many GFV points to resell. And by the time the seven month timeframe hits, any studios available right now will probably be gone.

You need a plan B, plan C and plan D.

They are telling me the usual "we are actively pushing the request out."
What that means is that they need an owner, at VGF, with sufficient points to book, who will take the booking. That's all they CAN do. Sometimes that takes 24 hours. Sometimes it takes 4 months and availability gets lost before 7 months. This is how the rental market works, and one of the risks of using DVC rental over booking a hotel (where availability is straightforward) or owning (where you may not be able to book but you control your process).

For a DVC rental with a broker to work, a number of things have to happen.

A owner has to want to rent their points.
They have to contact your broker to rent those points.
The points have got to match your request (within reason - few expect an exact match, but if I want to rent a week in a two bedroom worth of points, I might not mess with several studio reservations and wait for the two bedroom - and in fact I did).
That person has to respond to the reservation request - with a busy day, or being out of town, they might pass anyway. (I also did this, there were a few days reservations came through that I was too busy to deal with them and passed).
Then the room needs to be available.

Its a little easier without the broker, if you can find an owner here on the rent trade boards or through another connection, but some resorts have a much higher demand for rental than they have owners willing to rent their points. VGF is one of them - and honestly, it isn't really economically desirable for those owners to rent anyway - their buy in costs were pretty high, they may still have loans.

That's why people are saying have a backup plan.

As an owner, I would not list my VGF points with a broker. They can not pay the owner near enough as compared to renting on my own. Some brokers did just raise the rate they pay for other resorts, but not enough for VGF. That's why brokers have a hard time getting VGF owners to list with them.
