Hi, there. As we are getting closer and closer to our "try before you buy" trip (mostly for DH's benefit), I'm getting more and more excited about buying. We are looking for a small contract (50-60 points). Those of you who got on a waiting list for a resale, how long did you have to wait from the time that you got on the list to the time that your agent called you with a possible contract to bid on? We want a contract only at SSR. Do you think these will be hard to come by? Do you have to put money down to get on the waiting list? Just wondering when I should get on the list if we will want to buy in Feb.

Thanks for your input! I'm going batty with waiting!!! :crazy:

I am also considering purchasing a very small contract (95-100 points at SSR). How hard would this be to get from a the Timeshare Store or another broker?

I'm single (for the time being) and pretty young (22), so all I need is a studio for the forseeable future.

That would give me enough points for the most expensive possible S-Th stay at BCV during the busiest weeks of the season or about 2 S-Th stays at OKW or SSR during normal seasons.

We waited I think less than a month for our OKW resale contract once we got on the waitlist with the board sponsor. I think once you are on the list and they call, you need to be prepared to jump on it. I think with SSR the smaller contracts would be very hard to come by since it is a new resort and the small contracts are add-ons that people decide to sell. You could always buy any small one (like 25 points) that comes your way, then buy a 50 pt add-on through Disney at SSR. We are doing a direct-Disney add-on soon and that is a lot easier than waiting! I would get on all of the waitlists you can for SSR and see what happens...good luck!!

You do NOT have to put down a deposit to get on the waiting list at The Timeshare Store.

we got ours from Timeshare store... 100 points at BCV (fully loaded with the max banked points... great deal).

deposit = $0 (zero)
time on waitlist = less than 1 week (prior to putting our name on the list we talked to them for about 3 weeks asking questions).

TSS makes it VERY easy to get small contracts (and the best ones go to "waitlist" before they are posted for sale).... but you have to be ready to jump when a good deal comes, or it will go to the next person (e.g. make sure you leave a cell number)

good luck
