waiting on my resale - how long will it take ??

we are attempting to buy into the DVC for the first time with a resale at BWV....our deposit cleared about 2 weeks ago, but like everyone else, we are waiting to see if Disney is going to excercise the ROFR...

curious to know from others how long it has taken them to find out if their sale/purchase went through ??

from what i hear, we shouldn't be too optimistic about this working out....we made an offer on 300 points at less than $70 per point, and it sounds as if DVC is pouncing on everything in this price range....

I made an offer on a BWV resale on Feb. 13 and it was accepted by the seller on the same day; my broker sent it to Disney for ROFR on Feb. 14 and we found out on Feb. 24 that Disney opted not to buy back our contract. I've read posts from some people who waited two to three weeks or more to hear back from Disney. Good luck with your resale!

My recent resale took 3 weeks, and it was bought back (BWV 100 points @$69.75 per point).

Ours took an agonizing 35 days for some reason but we got good news in the end. (BWV) We went through the Timeshare Store.

Ours took about 30 days before Disney bought it back.

Ours took just under 3 weeks from the time our offer was accepted, to when we got word that Disney approved the sale. It was another 3 weeks before we closed, and 4 days for Disney to get my info into the Member Services computers so I could make my first ressies. The wait almost did me in. Good Luck!

Was that 4 days from the day you closed or 4 days from the day the deed was recorded? We closed yesterday and I am chomping at the bit to make those first reservations!

I got an email from Jaki late one Friday nite that we had closed, and I was in Disney's computer the following Wednesday morning. I called each day until they had my info, as I was very anxious to make my first reservations.

it's only been about 2 weeks for us since our deposit check was cashed, which i have to figure means the process really began at that point....

looks i have another week at least to sweat this out...

one other question, if anyone wishes to answer....

for those of you who had your resales taken by Disney.....did you jump right back in and try a resale again ?? or did you go another route ??

I'm still waiting for word on my resale. It was submitted to Disney around Feb. 17th. I'm hoping I hear something this week!!!!!

If if doesn't go through I'm not sure I'll do the resale market again since Disney is buying so many back and the price savings on resale is not very high now.

btw, do any of you resale veterans have any great tips on how to survive the agonizing wait?
my contract info just went to DVD earlier this week, so i've just barely started my wait, but reading about everyone else's wait is just making me more and more anxious!!
if i'm fretting about it already, imagine how i'll be in a few weeks!!

Disneyberry, I know how you feel and I feel your pain! I just spent alot of time on the boards and chewing my nails. Now, we closed on Wed. and I am dying to make those first reservations and here we are waiting again until we show up in the MS system. It's been so cold and snowy here and I and my 3 little guys have been stuck inside and it feels like all I've been doing is waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting.... Sorry, I'm not much help, am I? But it is nice to log on and talk to DVC folks when no one else understands your obsession! I've been reading your posts for awhile. Seems like you made a very well informed decision! I sure hope your resale goes through!

Hi Hulagirl,
We're inching along on our resale too. I wired the rest of the funds to the closing company today, and I'll be faxing our paperwork Monday morning. Once that's done and the seller returns his paperwork, they can close. I thought waiting 10 days for Disney's ROFR was hard, but it seems that the closer we get to closing, the slower everything seems to be moving along!
