Waiting in line ... What do you do?

Last year 6 of us played with string (we are in our 40's). The string used for cats cradle. We make different figures with them (2 of us belong to a finger string club). We wear the string aroung our necks like necklaces and when we were in a line or holding area waiting for a show etc., we would play cat"s cradle or make figures like the eiffle tower or a tea cup--it peeked the interest of the people around us. The CM's in Canada even played cat's cradle with us! You could pick up a book of finger string at Border's that were we got our's. They are by "KLUTZ" a blue book called "Cats Cradle" and a yellow/orange one called "String Games" they both come with string. "HAVE FUN"!!!!!

Yo-Yos!! My kids all learned how to yo-yo while waiting on line at WDW (way before FastPass). The yo-yo is small and fits in their pocket. Thanks for the memory.

If the attraction has a familiar instrumental version of a well-known song playing, I would either sing or hum along with it, sometimes getting ahead of myself. Other times, I observe the people around me, especially if there is a young child not paying attention and I would tell them that it's time to move on. Other times, I just stand there and wait doing nothing, which can be real boring except if there is a lot of activity happening around the attraction.

We pretty much avoid long lanes by using Fast Pass, but when we are standing in a line I start asking quesitons..."if you could only ride one more ride what would it be" and "what has been your favorite ride so far this trip" and "What do you think you would be doing if we were at home right this minute" and "what are they doing in school right now?" and "if you could only do one park, which one would it be"

t's funny what answers you get...some are very predictable, but some are so off the wall that we all laugh about it

Oh yeah, and I also come to the parks equiped with snacks that we share in line now and then.

Sometimes we use the time to slop on some sun screen.
