Waiting for SW to update their site...

:cool1::cool1: My flights for my dates in Feb is $290.40 rt for 2 people....from buf to mco.:thumbsup2

I just booked mine! I called instead of online, and I got our 6 tickets for january 15th! Try the phone!

Got Lucky!!!! :cool1:Nonstop BWI to MCO for $59 both ways! I was able to get through at about 10:40 am going through the "book travel" tab.

Now if only I could get a good rental car rate!!! LOL!

Good Luck to all!:thumbsup2

I got Dulles for $54 each way for January and March trip! I'm digging out those credits now so I can book!!! I did notice very limited flights on Saturdays, but more on week days. I guess this forces me to leave on a Friday instead of a Saturday....darn, I don't know if I can handle an extra day or 2 in WDW.

SWA's new site design does not get along with my computer. I know I need to upgrade this thing, but hey - if I do that I'm not going anywhere with them for awhile! Which way do they want it? :rotfl:

Our Feb flights were up over $1000 for the 2 kids and me to go PVD - MCO and back. I booked them, but you can bet I'll continue shopping for lower cost seats. I recall dings for Feb around Dec last time. That was before the reduction in aircraft however.

Want a laugh? - it's still far better than the last time we traveled over President's week -- I accidentally booked our trip home flight backwards ... "Doh!" I didn't realize my mistake until I went to check in online ... uh, which reminds me... I'd better triple check those airports and dates :3dglasses

Some days, I'm my own worst enemy.

What dates did you get. I got $62.00 each way BUF-MCO as well but have to leave Wed the 10 and return Monday the 22. This is fine with me anyway as we like to go down there for a longer jaunt. But my kids will still miss 3 days of school. these flights are way less than opening day last year for the same time period.

Feb 6-13 and 27-Mar 6 all 4 dates were $62.ea

Are you scheduling out of MacArthur? They have plenty of direct flights. What airport are you using?

I am looking at both Islip and LGA, but for President's Week. They aren't any cheaper than all the other airlines. Very frustrated.

What do you think? $2196 r/t for 5 tickets from Long Island to MCO. I have never flown SW before. All the other airlines are hight to, which is to be expected over President's Week. How likey is it that if I book it the prices will drop and I can get refunded the difference? Or should I give it a few days or so.

You guys are amazing! I wouldn't have even tried for our date since the main page still says it only books through Jan! I just go non stop for March 6th! (we already booked Airtran for our return flight). Yesterday I learned about the "kids sail free" on the Disney Cruise for our spring break, and now this! The Dis Boards is a life saver!

Thanks everyone!
DJ

Seems very high to me. I just booked 6 tickets. 5 of them are with rapid Rewards, so the price does not matter. The 6th one was paid, and it was 139.60 to Orlando, and 124.60 going home to Islip. That comes to $1321.00 round trip for 5 tickets. Our dates are Jan. 4-15. Perhaps your dates are what makes the price so high??

I never thought to book them separately. I will have to look into it. Thanks for the idea!

Our departure date is two days after their current window. :badpc: So, I'll have to wait six more weeks! :hourglass However, it did give me a better picture of pricing & times. Exactly one week prior to our dates, both the pricing & times are excellent. I'm hoping the prices won't go up much for our dates, since it is spring break.

Yeah, I never thought of it before the Dis Boards either. The thing is, Airtran opened dates this weekend and we got a nonstop flight on March 13th from Orlando to Indianapolis for $58 per person. But their March 6th flights were all $120 or more! So I decided to see if I could do better and then today I got the SW March 6th flight for $64 a person! The funny thing is SW didn't even open March 13th so if we had book RT we would have had to come home on March 12th with SW (or wait for them to open more dates). So it all worked out!

We always used NWA out of Indy before, but now they are part of Delta and don't have nonstop flights from Indy to MCO. Now Airtran and SW are the only airlines offering nonstop from Indy to MCO, so we can try them both this time and see which one we prefer for the future.

Good Luck with getting your flights!

I always book my reservations seperate. I just finished booking my January and March trips. I paid $129 rt pp from Dulles/WashDC to MCO for each trip. This is the best price I've gotten in a long time. Generally I average about $159 rt and struggle to get that. January I'm going to MCO on SW, and home on Jetblue. In March it's SW both ways (I just hope that RAC is up and running by March 2010).

There really isn't any reason to offer any seats at the deeply discounted fare buckets for flights that are likely to sell out at higher prices. Families flying during President's week, who want to maximize their week, may have to pay more then they'd like. People on DIS don't want to hear this but high fares on peak flights is what allows airlines to offer deeply discounted fares on off-peak flights.

Some posters may have missed booking the "cheap" seats but it's possible cheap seats weren't offered.

Airlines don't follow this policy but I've read any fare that sells out in a few days never should have been offered. The airline could have sold the seats at a higher fare.

Makes sense. I used to be a travel agent for a good 12-13 yrs so you would THINK i'd realize by now that the airlines don't have to make any sense to the buyers. haha

We're flying the week of Jan 29th to FLL not to MCO. But I think the following weekend is Super Bowl so maybe there are alot of people booking for Miami with the hope that Super Bowl is there??

Is it best to hold off a few days and see how things go or just book now? When I jumped the gun and booked the first day the schedule was out (the last time) I was mad at myself b/c 3 days later the faer went down! :confused3

Yes, I'm not particularly happy with the prices when we are flying... We usually go in September and I can always find $79 each way trips, usually marked down to $66 or $59 each way on a DING! fare. The cheapest I see today is $117 each way from BNA to MCO.

However, this trip is March 7-14, so we're stuck paying the higher fares due to Spring Break.

If I didn't have SWA credits, I wouldn't bother.

I couldn't believe that the cut off date for posted dates was one day from when I originally wanted to return.

I have been waiting for their rates to come out before I booked our trip at the resort. I am glad I did. March 6 lowest airfair for Pitt was 124, on Sunday March 7 it is $84 with better hour options for us, but... I can't book my return flights which would have been either March 13 or March 14th since they cut off the dates.

So as soon as my DH gets home I want to discuss moving our original plans to a Sun-Sun to possibly save $320 if the return Sunday is also $84 whenever it comes out (currently not scheduled until October 13th).

I think it is plenty worth it.

I am the "travel co-ordinator" :) for my oldest sister's 60th birthday trip  to Vegas for all my sister's (plus my sister's daughter-in-law and BFF, 8 of us in all). We are travelling Thursday 1/14/10 - Sunday 1/17/10 and the best from Indy was $299 RT NS. That seems pretty steep to me, so I think I'll wait a bit and keep checking. I LOVE SWA and they are the only airline that flies NS to Vegas from Indy. I just wish the price would be a bit closer to ~ $200/person.

Booked today for Jan 10 & 16 for $5. Course that was with Rapid Rewards free round trip awards.
