Waiting for DISNEYLAND HOTEL DVC Thread (see post 1 for updates)

Saw on Facebook that someone posted that the language yesterday was cash reservations, now it says rental reservations, so not sure if that means members can book with points. So much confusion hopefully we can get even more clarification this week
Almost certainly no point bookings. When a new resort opens, DVC always grants new members a period of priority booking. If for example the resort opens in September and sales start in March, in theory, being within 7 months, everyone could book opening day. But what they do is open booking only to owners for a few weeks so they can book for any date from opening date to 11 months. Then, after a while floodgates are opened.
Sales *could* start the same day cash reservations open, but then it means only new owners will be able to book on points.

What is the first day in September you can stay?

That's what I was hoping and really only seems fair. I haven't paid attention to the other DVC openings, since we haven't been owners long and only own resale. Thanks

Yup, just as recently as last year with the opening of VGF's expansion, owners had a period of priority booking. I fully expect that to be the case this time.

Does anyone have any idea of what cash stays are likely to be priced at for a two bed or three bed villa in Sept? Even a very rough ballpark idea.

Probably a dumb question, but I assume villas are more expensive than a typical room, right? So we could look at the current prices of rooms in the other towers and assume that the new villas will be a bit more?

A studio villa is typically a small premium to a hotel room with an equivalent view/location. However a 1-2BR villa is frequently a *massive* discount to the 1-2 bedroom hotel suites.

So the website has updated to say ownership details “in the coming weeks”… Should we start betting on when that actually will be?

They updated the website today to say coming months instead of weeks. At least that’s what I’m seeing.

Clear cookies or use an incognito/private browser :)
You're both right 😊

It said "weeks" to describe "booking and purchasing" until yesterday, where it was switched to "months" to describe "Add-On details and booking with Points" for those signed in. It persists saying "months" until you clear cookies or use incognito/private.

I suspect the "months" for DVC aspects is probably closer to the truth as it was the most recently published string and it doesn't disagree with "weeks" for "booking", which goes public for cash bookings tomorrow.

Maybe we see both strings converge tomorrow to something like "To book a cash stay at this Resort today, visit disneyland.disney.go.com --or check this page in the coming months for details about purchasing or booking with Points."
