Waiting for August Hours - All hours are up!!

I got an email from Disney yesterday before they started releasing the park hours for August inviting me to plan ahead for my trip.....All I could think was, "Well, I'd LIKE to but you're making it impossible!"

Anyone else get that type of email and see the irony in it?

I checked the park hours for our trip and Wishes isn't listed. Anyone have any idea what is going on?

Does your family not enjoy Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom? I see you are spending just one day at those parks. I need at least 2 days at HS to see everything.

I don't spend more than 1 day at HS either. In fact, we've seen everything we want to see in half a day.

I just posted a thread on this on TGM. I'm trying to see if we can squeeze DHS into our departure day, so we can spend 2 full days each at MK and Epcot. Since no one has responded to my thread over there, do you guys think I can fit in (August 30, Fantasmic in the evening but no EMH's) if we get there right by ropedrop:

FP TSM, then ride it
ToT Standby (or FP if close to window, then ride after RnRC)
RnRC single rider
Use FP to ride TSM
Muppetvision 3D

It'll just be me and DS16, and if necessary we'd skip RnRC or Muppetvision. Just how bad is TSM (well, the lines, not the ride!)? We haven't seen it yet, so want to squeeze it in twice. When do you think we'd be done with this? Our flight (using ME from Pop) is at 5pm, so I'd hope to have this done by noon or so to allow time to eat and get back for a 2pm ME departure.

If you arrive at the gates 30 min. before park opening, you'll be just fine.

Oh boy, the only night that Spectro is happening our week is also an EMH day ~ guess there's no chance of light crowds that day. :scared:

They can't have September and October for 2009.

They can't have September and October for 2009.

And if you look at the calendar there, Sept 1 is listed as a Monday. Sept 1 is a Tuesday this year, but was a Monday last yr. So it looks like the Sept, Oct, etc calendars are for 2008. (sorta confusing if you just glance at the page since no year is posted)

That is a good question. Indeed, we did enjoy Hollywood Studios (and Animal Kingdom) a great bit. I would return to Hollywood Studios just for TSMM, Lights Motors Action, and Fantasmic, even if there were nothing else in the park to do.

DD14 played a big part in helping to decide how many days we would spend in each park. We loved Hollywood Studios, however I am the most adventurous as far as rides go in my family, and even I'm not really certain that I want to ride ToT or RnRC. DW, and DD14 are certain that they do NOT, and DS5 isn't big enough for RnRC yet. With those two rides out, it really isn't terribly hard to see the rest of Hollywood Studios in one day. We didn't miss much there last year, and we only spent one day. This year, we'll skip a couple of things we did last year, and we won't take a mid day break. That should give us plenty of time to see what we want to.

Animal Kingdom I am sure could take more than one day, however it was a wash out for us last year, we really didn't get much of anything done in the park, and I think that turned the kids off a bit. In addition, we live less than an hour away from the Bronx Zoo, which we go to quite regularly, so that takes some of the thrill out of AK for the kids, and neither of them is the least bit interested in EE, or Dinosaur, which again makes it a bunch easier to see most of what we want to see in one day. I don't expect that we'll get to everything in AK in that one day, but then that gives us a reason to go visit Disney World again another year.

DD14, and DS5 LOVE MK, I think it is their favorite park, and much to my surprise (and it was / is a pleasant surprise) DD14 (was 13 last year) totally got what the World Showcase is about, and fell in love with it, much the way I did when I was her age. I think the biggest disappointment for her last year was that we didn't get enough time to really explore the World Showcase. The combination of bad ADR timing, and bad weather wiped out most of our time for touring, so spending plenty of time in World Showcase was a TOP priority for DD14 this year.

I see AK hours are not on the WDW site yet. So how does Magical Kingdoms have them on their site? Are we to assume they are just guessing? Do you think that August calendar is correct? :confused3 :confused3

I got the same e-mail and all I could do was laugh.

Looking at other posts, Travel Agents seem to have hours for all August stuff. I don't know if they have a special web site or get notification from WDW. But it would seem odd if they're telling their clients false info
