Trying to find reasonable flights to Orlando for April 10th. They seem to have gone up a lot. Our original plan was to fly to New Orleans and then drive to Orlando, but car rentals for one way trips are astronomical. We have a ressie for 10 days at MCO for $345. For the same time to pick up in New Orleans and drop off at MCO is about $1000. We already have our flights home booked, now we just have to get there.

Keep an eye out last night my flight was 150$ more and today it's dropped!!!!!!

Best of luck :)

Never mind: I must learn to read a post first! before replying!

Interested in another plan?

Flights to Atlanta are cheap ... around $400 with taxes in etc return. You could rent from there and drive.

I haven't played with any codes etc, but a ten day car rental from Atlanta is C$579.55 via expedia. I figure a few codes could get you to the mid or low $400. 6.5 hours to Disney from there ....

Flight April 10th to April 20th from Halifax to New Orleans is running around $600

We have a direct flight home from Orllando on the Apr 20. They were $234. Taxes in. Is Atlanta a crazy airport to get around in? We did look at that, but we really wanted to do New Orleans, may have to plan that for another trip. I will check the one way to Atlanta and the car prices. I think the drop off in another state is the problem.

Atlanta is the craziest airport I've experienced. It's huge! I avoid it if at all possible.

United has flights for $286 pp one way. Air Canada has flights for $298. Not too bad.

We drove TPA-New Orleans about 14 years ago, but we did the whole round-trip. (Actually we kept going, got as far as Lafayette, loved Cajun Country.) Dh loves road trips! It was a lot of driving, but neat. I think we were at least two weeks, with only a few nights in any one place. Anyway, that doesn't help you, but thanks for reminding me of that trip! I hope you find a way to make it work out. RDU/Raleigh-Durham NC might be worth looking at? Not much further than Atlanta, and also an interesting area to explore. We've visited NC, but I'd love to see SC, Savannah and the coast.

I think we are going to plan it for next year and start planning early. We are now flying into St. Petes and touring around there and possible Sarasota for a few days before we go to Orlando. Flying out of Orlando.
