Wait - We're staying Where? and When????

Tess, I think that shoveling snow definitely counts AS exercise. We've all had our fair share of that lately. :headache:

And some of us have had MORE than our fair share. Charlie came home from being out of town last week and asked why I didn't shovel all the way up his part of the driveway so he could pull his car up farther. He's very lucky I didn't hit him over the head with the shovel!

I pulled out the Disney suitcase this morning and sort of organized the stuff that was already in it - just took out the Halloween bags, which we won't need in March - :confused3.

Then I went through the Disney shirts and decided I need to make a couple more for this trip;) since all the ones I have are tank tops. Not sure I'm going to be ready for tanks in March. Besides, who doesn't need new shirts?

Still debating adrs for September, but I have 41 days to make final decisions. I have nailed down the MNSSHP night and the dessert party night. I think I'm going to wait until Mo decides on her adrs, then follow her around like the stalker I am:rotfl2:. Just kidding.....:rolleyes1

i would pay to see this.....

OHHHHHHHHHHH I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU MAKE NOW!!! :cool1:
I loved your shirts last trip! LOVED!

This could be lots of fun!!! just waiting for those pesky park hours to finally be posted!!!!!!!!

Oh my gosh, this cracked me up!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

And...go ahead and stalk Mo. I think she likes it in a weird kind of way.:lmao:

We just had the worst ice storm I've ever witnessed. Power went out in my town about 5 am yesterday and is still off. Estimates for getting power back from the electric company range from 4 pm today until 12 pm Sunday. Who knows?

This means we are without heat (except for the fireplace), can't cook (no coffee!), no internet. My phone died, we charged it in the car once yesterday, but it died again. It was my only link with the outside world! Luckily??? work was closed. The roads were horrible until it warmed up to above freezing, and trees are down everywhere. Charlie went out about noon to find coffee and then went out again to get a pizza for dinner - our options at that point were limited! It was very eerie looking outside last night with no lights anywhere, except for a few flickering in some of the neighbors windows. I have a collection of oil lamps for just such an occasion and they were put to good use last night. We bundled up and slept in the family room and Charlie kept the fire going. The house was freezing when I woke up this am, but we did have hot water. I got dressed quickly and left early for work. At least I'd be able to get some coffee!

So power is still out in parts of the city, and lots of intersections are still icy. Streets are closed because of the downed trees, but we are fine at work - its warm here!

In other news, Kat had her second surgery on Tuesday to remove the rest of her colon. She is doing well, and was up and walking yesterday. That girl is a real trooper! The third surgery is 3 months out. They will be reconstructing a colon for her, but that is about all I know at this point.

Just a little over a month until we leave for Florida. It can't come too soon for me!

Oh my gosh Tess... I cannot imagine!!! My prayers and warm thoughts go out to you. I pray your power is turned on again soon... Thankful you have a fire place and lamps... If we were to lose power - we would be so screwed - we have nothing!

Please keep us updated as you can (thank you for the update on Kat, as well), you will continue to be in our prayers.

D~

i have been thinking about you!!!

I am SO SORRY!!! that is a disaster! Did it come back? One time you actually want to go to work!
Thank goodness you have a fireplace! I am so sorry you are going through this!

Yep, power came back on Friday afternoon, however the cable and internet did not come back until Sunday morning. I was going through serious withdrawal... Getting prepared for the next storm on Wednesday night....Geesh.
:scared1:

I did on-line check in for our March trip last night. :yay:

I have to order the baseball tickets today.

I also forgot to mention that I have to go for another CT scan on my sinuses on Wednesday. Still clogged, still waking up with headaches most mornings. The next step is probably going to be some type of surgery....

I was a real slacker last week on any type of physical activity other than shivering. Today I was back at the weight training. I upped my weights to 5 lbs - doesn't sound like much, but it works for me. My oldest son, Steven, is looking to get back to running and needs a running buddy. I may consider that once the weather improves, so I need to get back to the C25K program. Guess that means the treadmill for me....

So, Charlie and I are season ticket holders for the Orioles. Okay, so its only a 13 game plan, but one of the perks is we can get "free" tickets to spring training games. Unless they are "prime" games, then there is not even a discount. And the one game I could get free tickets for that was not "prime"? They only had standing room only tickets available - ones that were free. No thanks. I ended up buying tickets for the prime game (against the Red Sox) from the ticket agent I talked to and then went online and bought tickets for the Pirates game with a discount because I get the Sarasota newsletter.

At least, my son will be getting us really free tickets from the Pirates for the game at the Pirates stadium.

Still, the weather in Florida will be better than what we have here. More snow is expected on Wednesday into Thursday. And of course, my youngest dd is planning to come home on Thursday. I tried talking her into coming on Wednesday instead or waiting until Friday, but she definitely has that German stubbornness from both sides of the family!

BUmmer about the no free tickets... but it's going to be so fun for you to go to the spring training games! I know that's the reason for this trip - but still so awesome! If there is ever a sport that I do love, baseball (and our beloved Twins) would be it - with hockey at a distant second. So, I am happy that you got tickets - it's going to be a great (warm) time!

Grrrr... on the weather and dd trying to come home in it. She needs to wait - but will they ever listen to us? No... Sigh.

I hope things are settling back to normal and your generator is all hooked up and ready to go...

D~

The new generator is still in the box, but believe me that if the power goes out again, the generator will be hooked up immediately.

On a sad note - all my guppies died because the water got too cold in the tank.

Snowpocalypse is coming! Watching the news to see how the storm is affecting the south. My heart goes out to everyone in its path. I know that you don't usually deal with this "stuff". We've had more than our usual share too. Schools are already closed for tomorrow, and it hasn't even started snowing yet. The powers that are supposed to know this stuff say that we are in the middle of the blizzard zone. Our SuperValentineSochi Social luncheon at work has been postponed. What can I say? We like to eat and have some type of luncheon at least every other month. I will have to take a picture of the board, its gotten quite out of hand with comments - everything from "be careful of bathroom doors and elevators" to "maybe we should move the lunch to Sochi since its 50 degrees there". It was 6 degrees when I left for work this morning!

Thank heavens my dd, Shannon decided to listen to her mother and is on her way home now. She should be here in another hour or so. She'll be here for just over a week - until Kat's 21st birthday next Saturday and then she will be headed to Chicago for 2 months

On a brighter note, our magic bands came today for our March trip!!!! I can't wait to use them.

I spent the last half hour at work today trying to choose restaurants for our September trip - and which parks we will be in on which days. I have a few chosen, but still have more to decide on. We will be doing a few more breakfasts this trip. We are also going to Universal in Sept and I was checking out the restaurant choices there too. Lots of decisions to make....

I had a CT scan of my sinuses tonight. Should have the results in 2 days, but with the storm, I will probably wait until Monday to call the doctor to discuss our next option.

Stay safe everyone!

You've been on my mind Tess... I am so glad Shannon is coming home now, rather than waiting.

Please know that you are in our prayers, keep us updated as you can.

D~

Tess, keeping good thoughts with all this weather and the loss of power.

I'm sorry to hear about the guppies. :(

Shannon made it home just as it started to snow last night. We are pretty much buried in the white stuff now. Its also blowing in the wind, so lots of drifting. We have about 12-15 inches on the deck. Not sure I'm going to be able to get to work tomorrow either. Luckily the County offices were closed today. Not sure any one could have made it into the city today anyway.

We are safe and warm today. Don't expect any power outages, but you never know. At least we are prepared this time.....

Hello my friend...
Glad your 'warming' up kind of.. more snow for you??? SO SORRY!!! is there any reprieve for you??? Sorry all your fun plans are getting screwed up. just when you have something to look forward to the weather takes that away too.. so BOOOOOOO on that.
we are only supposed to get a tenth of an inch.. SUPPOSEDLY.. yet when have these weather men EVER been correct?

No GUPPIES?!?! well a trip to the pet store must rectify that.. Sorry to hear about this. just such a shame your HOME is that cold... i cannot imagine. Sending warm thought and hugs to you!!!!

I am very glad that Shannon made it home safely last night - what a relief.

I am sorry about your guppies... I hope you are able to get more.

Stay warm my friend - you are in my thoughts.

D~
