Hi, welcome to my newest pre-trip report. This is me - Terry, or Tess, or T - I answer to all three. I am a land use planner with the county. Been doing this for just about 20 years - I went back to college after my youngest was born and voila! 21 years after I graduated from high school, I graduated from college! I have 4 wonderful kids - all young, successful adults.

Ok, so this is me.

I love to sew, I love the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens, which makes for some interesting Sundays in our house since my DH is a Pittsburgh Steelers fan....

This is my DH Charlie:

He loves Disney, probably more than I do, but he is not a planner, and leaves all "those" decisions up to me. He is a good sport and thinks its fun to wear custom t-shirts and costumes that I have made for him.

We were just in our "happy place" in September and were able to book a "bounceback" trip for September, 2014. Free dining - Woohoo!!!

But..........

We are currently booked for 11 glorious days at our new favorite resort - Caribbean Beach Resort in early September. We stayed here in September - after Charlie talked me into changing from our previous favorite resort - Port Orleans French Quarter. I love everything about POFQ from the theming to its size. The pool is fabulous and I liked being able to walk to Riverside or take a boat to DTD, though we rarely get to DTD :confused3:. However, C had been watching YouTube videos of the different resorts and wanted to try something different. So, we tried something different. I was very pleasantly surprised with the resort. It is gorgeous! See.....

The rooms were very nice with a very subtle Nemo theme:

The only thing I didn't care for much were the double beds, but we are short people, so it really wasn't a problem.

So we really like this resort and would like to stay here again.

What is the problem then??? Well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I can't tell you, yet.:rotfl2::confused3popcorn:::scratchin

But, it will probably result in a resort change and possibly a slight change in dates......

Thanks for posting. Yep, I made the costumes for our first MNSSHP this year. We had a blast! More news coming soon.

Thanks D~! I thought I'd take a page out of your book.....

I'm here!!!!!

Hi Mo! Glad you're here!
*********************
I don't have an update yet, but hopefully in a day or two....

Today, I am spending with my oldest DD Kate. Her birthday was 2 weeks ago and this is the first time we've had to get together. A get-together in our family means sharing a dozen or so steamed crabs. Maryland blue crabs smothered in Old Bay seasoning and steamed to perfection! Yep, crabs and beer, eaten on a newspaper covered table. The only thing that would make it better would be to have an Orioles game on tv....

I also have all the usual Saturday morning chores to do - laundry, cleaning - all the yucky stuff that never seems to go away. I'm also going to make a pot of chicken rice soup for tomorrow's dinner and have some for Kate to take home. She's trying gluten-free meals so the chicken rice soup should work for her.

I may head out to check out the craft shows in the area today, but since funds are limited, I'm not likely to buy anything, just get ideas....

TTFN

Enjoy the crab....yum
Enjoy gathering ideas at the craft show -love doing that as well.

The crabs were great, but even better was spending time with Kate. Never did make it to the craft show, but Kate went with her stepmom. She said that I need to set up a table next year and sell my bags because they are much better than anything at the show.

I might just do that.

Today I woke up early with a sinus headache, so I was up at 6 am. Oh well, now I can go spend the day in my sewing room. I have a list of things I need to make for Christmas gifts, so I need to get started.

Enjoy your day! I hope you remembered to turn your clocks back an hour - unless you live in Arizona or Hawaii, that is. Speaking of which, I was in Hawaii when daylight savings time started here. Didn't affect us though....:beach:

Mmmm... The crab sounds yummy!!!! I love crab - have no skills when it comes to craking it though. LOL

I think that selling your bags at a craft show is a great idea!!! I bet you would do very well!

I hope you had a great day too! I remembered to set all of them back - except for my bedroom alarm clock... Guess who was up an hour early this morning?

Blue crabs are different than the Alaskan King crab legs that you get in most seafood restaurants. If you ever get down my way, I will be happy to show you how to eat them. Its something we learned very young. Back in September we took my oldest dd, Kate out to dinner after the last baseball game of the season to a local seafood restaurant. We did not get crabs, however people on either side of us did. They were all from Boston and did not have a clue how to eat them. So naturally, we jumped up to help - LOL

I've been considering making and selling bags for a while now. I just need to find enough time to create an inventory, which is hard with my full-time job. I'm usually too tired in the evenings to spend them in the sewing room. But maybe after the first of the year I will inventory my supplies and start stockpiling bags. :rotfl:

***********************
I did get into the sewing room yesterday and spent most of the day cleaning it up, re-organizing things and making room for me to work. For the most part, I'm happy. I have a rocking chair that belonged to my mother (my father bought it for her when she got sick) that I cherish, but I no longer have room for it in my sewing room unless I take out my quilt frame. Which I may end up doing anyway, since I haven't used it for a while. I have a nice stockpile of t-shirts for Charlie for our next trip - need to decide on appliques for them. He's such a good sport!::yes::

I'm taking a page out of D~s book again. I have a couple of super secret projects that I will be working on, which are Disney related, though probably not until after the holidays, depending on how long my Christmas projects take to make.

I spent most of last evening frog stitching a quilt top that I had made for my dd Kate because I did not like the way it turned out. I have another pattern in mind, but I have to make a test block first. Here's the background on this quilt. Kate lived for many years in NYC after she graduated from college. In fact, its only been about 2 years since she took a job with the University of Maryland and moved back to Baltimore. My younger ds Andrew's fiance is from NY and I made her a quilt one year that I called New York City Streets and Kate wanted a NY quilt too. So, I started collecting New York City fabrics (there is a quilt shop in NYC that creates these fabrics and sells them) and now I want to make this quilt for her for Christmas. So I need to get my act together and make the top and get it quilted before Christmas. It can happen.....pixiedust:

Well now I can share our big news! :banana:We are now Disney Vacation Club owners!:cool1: Our home resort is Boardwalk Villas. :yay: Still don't know where our September trip will be, we have to wait for the closing, but Disney has waived ROFR (right of first refusal), so as soon as the paperwork is done, we can begin to book our next trip.

We are planning a trip in March to Sarasota/Bradenton for baseball Spring Training. Hopefully my son will be there at the same time - he works in the front office for the Pittsburgh Pirates and will be in Florida several times starting in January.

Our trip will begin in Sarasota and end at Disney. I want to go during the Flower and Garden show. We will only be going to EPCOT since we will only be there for 3 days at the most.

More on this trip when I know more.....

Okay, I'm here for this one too. I'll catch up on this and the TR as soon as the boss goes to his meeting. :goodvibes

Congratulations Tess!!!! I am sooo happy for you! I just knew you would get it!

So, does this mean you will be going in the spring and the fall??? Did you purchase enough point to go twice per year??? Wanna k now all the details!

D~

Tess, I'm sorry I didn't get back this morning as promised (I had one boss in a meeting and the other two driving me crazy all day).

Nice to meet you. :goodvibes

An FYI for future reference...Caribbean is getting queen beds next year.

Now, more importantly, :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: on being DVC owners. We can't afford it now, but we hope to do it down the road when some money comes Mark's way from his dad.

We've stayed DVC the last several years and LOVE it (we rent points). We are staying at BWV for the first time in just 27 days.

I can't wait to read more. Now I'm going to eat dinner and then get caught up on your TR.

Very exciting news on DVC!!!! Looking forward to more plans after the closing

That's good news about Caribbean - we loved it there and I know it doesn't always get good reviews.

Until we actually go to closing and get our membership number, we can't do anything. The general plan right now is to stay at BWV or BC in March (if that's even possible at this late date) and to stay at BWV in September. The dates will depend on what is available, but since I really want to go at the beginning of September, I don't think we should have a problem getting something somewhere. Meanwhile, we still have our reservation with free dining at CBR and I'll keep that until we know for sure where we will be staying.

Just checking in on you to see if there is any progress... ???

D~

No progress yet. Still waiting for the closing documents to come. They should be here before Friday, but its nerve-wracking waiting....:headache:
