Wait to see how ME experiences are for others....

I was just wondering if anyone was thinking of waiting to see how other vacationers made out with the new ME and what their experience was before they themselves decided to sign up for it. I know that you can sign up for ME 10 days before your trip. We are flying SW and can only get the luggage service for our incoming part of our trip. We will have to take care of our luggage and boarding passes on our return trip to MCO. Our trip is May 20 - May 25. I was thinking of waiting until about May 9th before calling to sign up for ME just so that I could see some posts from others about their experiences with the new ME program. Does anyone think this will be pushing it to close? I'm afraid that if I wait too late that I may not eveb be able to get on the ME service. What do you think?

Might be too close. With the service not starting until May 5, you most likely won't be hearing any reports until the 10th, at the earliest. You would want to hear how both ends of the service worked out, so while you might get some reports from those at WDW, we might be better off waiting until people got home and used both ends of ME. So, you might not have time to make those reservations.

Well, if you don't sign up, what is your alternative choice? I think you might be leaving it a little late if you wait for reports.

I'd say go for it. It can't possibly be that bad. Then you can be a resident expert for the rest of us .

I have already signed up for it, and I'm not going until July. As a solo traveller it's perfect for me, although like you I will have to check in my own bags for the trip home. I would have had to do that anyway so I haven't lost out on anything.

You have a good point!! Okay, next question. I had YMJ book our ressie for us. Does she need to sign us up for ME or can I call and get that done? Whenever I call now about our ressie, the CM politely tells me that the TA who made the ressie will need to call to request any changes. Don't know if I need to contact TA or not.

You could always make the reservation and cancel it if you decide not to do it. If you don't put the tags on your luggage, it will not be pulled for Magical Express.
