Wait times?

I have been on the MDE App and I've been keeping track of the listed wait times and they don't seem to be too crazy for around this time of year. If anybody is at the parks can you confirm if they are accurate?

Some are speculating that overall attendance is down this summer.

Yeah, there are threads on this. It seems the 4th of July weekend was slower than normal. I couldn't believe the wait times when I checked, 30 mins soarin, 30 TT, TSMM 20. The big rides had long waits though.

I've been stalking the wait times app too, I hope it stays this way from July 15th-August 1st

Just back tonight - wait times were accurate. Attendance was down in all parks. We were amazed how much we got done in half days.

For example, we had two half days planned at Hollywood Studios - Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. We arrived around 5:30 Wednesday with FPs for RNRC, ToT and Star Tours. We used our FPs and spent time in the Launch Bay visiting Kylo Ren and trading with the jawas. We decided to ride TSMM standby (had FPs for the following morning) since the wait was 40 minutes and we had an hour and a half before the Star Wars fireworks. Just for fun, I checked MDE and was able to pick up a FP for TSMM at 8:20 (I checked at 8:00). As soon as we scanned our FPs, I checked again and got another one for 8:35. As soon as we scanned again, I got RNRC for 9:00. As soon as we scanned, I got ToT for 9:30, which we rode just before the park closed at 10:00. I have two teenagers who have seen the shows several times - they got their fill of the rides they wanted and we canceled our Thursday FPs and moved them to AK.

We did not see F! unfortunately, since it was scheduled for 9 and the SW fireworks were at 9:30. There was another F! at 10:30, but we didn't stay for it.

We were in MK yesterday and AK today and amazed how quiet it was. We normally visit a month later in August and the last two days are probably the quietest we've ever seen it in summer. 15:30 today Everest had a 10 min standby and Dinosaur was a walk on as was Primeval Whirl. Was very hot though!!!

The extra theater for Soarin and extra track on TSMM have been helping out a lot since they opened. Also Frozen has taken quite a few people from TT and Soarin

It has been a lighter spring and summer did get more crowded but right now I would call it less than normal.

I think people are also spreading out between the parks better.

People want to see the AK tree and safari at night so they aren't park hopping back to another park.
star wars fireworks are excellent and the park is really for the star wars, action and adventure and pixar fan (some other things still there) but again people aren't doing it only for half a day to see the fireworks.
Epcot everyone is standing around most of the day hoping to ride frozen so a lot of the park is very empty until the ride breaks and everyone scatters with their fastpass from the breakdown.
Springs is kind of a destination right now with all it's changes.

ride improvements that made a huge difference:
TSMM third track + opened later as the fireworks don't interfere with keeping it opened has it reasonable.
soarin kind of long lines but third theater helping keeping that more sane.

However, I also want to note that there is a lot of stuff on the going to close list coming up before the end of summer, popular rides that have to close for some spit and polish. I thikn we'll see some longer lines once that hits.
