Wait times?

How long are normal wait times at Disneyland in late June/early July? I know it's peak season and all so I don't expect them to be short.

Does anyone have any tips on how to make the wait less boring for a 5,3, and almost 2 yr old?

My husband will be using a wheelchair during the visit due to mobility problems he has... will this increase/decrease wait times at all?

WAY BUSY! Schools get out early June so it starts getting bad then.

Take advantage of Fast pass! Remember you don't need to come back durning times it says.. you can save them and just have shortish waits when its past time. Use EE you can get most/all of fantisy land done then.

Some of the rides your kids wont all be tall enough for.. there is something not sure of what its called.. but one parent can bring whatever kids are tall enough and ride with them and then switchoff and the other person can get right on with the kids..

Bring snacks.. games.. flashcards.. small toys..

The wheelchair can go both ways. From what I've read on here.. There is another entrance on MOST rides for wheelchairs (because alot of rides have stairs).. but whoever else is with the party still has to wait in line and the wheelchaired person waits alone then you meet up once the party waiting in line gets there.

Others like IASW I think has a special entrance that you all can use. Mainly because the boats can hold the wheelchair in itself. so I think that one is shorter.

Try posting on the disabilities forum.. there will be more people with experience then just "here say"

If your husband needs a wheel chair during your visit. First I'd consider a ECV as it's a lot of rolling in one day. Second. You will want to go to guest services, town hall in DL or on the left in DCA. And ask for a GAC, guest assistance card. They will want to know what they will need to do to accomodate him. Like can he transfer into rides on his own. Or can he only go on attractions that the wheel chair can roll onto.

Take this card to a CM at any attraction and they will tell you where to go. Sometime you will load through the FP line, or an exit. This saves time on some rides, but takes longer on some, depends on how long the lines are.

Also use it for WoC and Fireworks and F! so you can view from the HA areas. But still show up early so you aren't behind the other three groups with a person on an ECV.

All at CA except River Run, and Screamin - The only one of those I see her actually wanting to go on is River Run which is 42 inches... so we can probably pull it off if I have her wear tennis shoes to CA.

We talked to his doctor about the trip and she recommended a wheel chair for the trip and said she would write any type of mobility explanation needed for DL.

I don't plan to pad her shoes, just put her in tennis shoes which will give her an inch or two height. I know she'll want to go on River Run, but that's the only one I see her wanting to go on that she can't. She's not into roller coasters, we've tried that at the Carnival.

I didn't really mean pad her shoes.. some people on here talk about putting their kids in heels, or platform shoes so they can get on.. not like you would.. but apparently some people do and they check closly now?!?! IDK

Maybe once she see's Brooke wanting to she will too.

ummm, maybe but idk... Brooke pushed her down the slide in our backyard last summer and she wouldn't go near any slide for months, she was terrified of them. Actually the first time she's been on a slide since was this weekend at the park. Who knows though, it's still several months away... but she's not a dare devil like Brookie is, she is very cautious.

Well we're planning to drive there on July 9th and hang out at the hotel pool. Go to DL/DCA on the 10th,11th,12th,13th, 14th. Go to the beach or do something with my dads side of the family on the 15th and drive back on the 16th. We're waiting on my work to approve the dates and the school district superintendent to call us back with a for sure starting day for Fremont this year... although she told me she was about 90% sure it would start on July 18th. All is still up in the air until my work approves it and we know for sure Brookelyn won't have school. We reserved a room at Super 8 (I get a discount through my work since the company own the super 8 in Fallon) so it's super super cheap for week plus they allow us to change the reservations if those dates aren't going to work.
When we know for sure what the dates are we'll let you know.

How do I know if my tickets include MM? I don't remember if it said they did or not.

We were thinking of doing BBB for the girls, but letting them pick the dress before hand and buying it online because they are so much cheaper. Not positive though.

Oh wait... found the MM thing in fine print on the tickets - says we have one day of MM.

In answer to your OP, one way to answer is to tell you what the wait times actually are. For example, Space Mtn will be 40-75 minutes, Indiana Jones 30-60 minutes, Soarin Over California 40-75 minutes, Peter Pan 40-60 minutes, etc.

However...

Those numbers do not apply to me or most of the rest of us around here because we never wait in those lines. By using Magic Mornings, arriving early, taking afternoon breaks, making good hotel choices, etc., we rarely wait in line more than 20 minutes for any ride. The only exception tends to be Toy Story Mania - which IMO will change by summer 2012 once CarsLand opens.

You won't need a note, just say the above when you get the GAC. It is for the holder+6 people so you can all go together not split the group up for rides.

Just let me say it again. An ECV is going to be better than pushing your DH around for several miles. It will also be easier for splitting your group up when some kids can't go on some rides.

I would think about maybe leaving a day or two sooner because if school starts on the 18th meet your teacher will probably be on the 15th. I think thats how it was this last July.

It is cheaper that way, but then you loose part of the experience... still undecided if we will do it next month. I was thinking letting her pick it out the first day we go and then I'll fancy her up before we leave the hotel the second day.. although I'm not sure which one she will choose, she already has her 3 favorites.. but not sure if Ariel fits her anymore.. that may be a deciding factor lol

With my work schedule and the schedule for having Brooke we couldn't go earlier. I tried for approval for mid June and the dates didn't work for HR because of a promotion we're running that month, The last week of June was okay except it didn't work with you having Brooke for the 4th of July next year. I don't get my vacation time until June (one year with the company) so if they approve the July dates it'll be the way we have to do it.

I'm off on Friday's and Saturday's so if we left the 7th my vacation time would be over on the 13th and I would have to go to work on the 14th.

I don't know, I just left her a voicemail (Renee Cortez is who does the calendar). They said she is out of the office today but will be in tomorrow so maybe we'll hear back from her. There are only two Kindergarten teachers, so the odds are pretty good she'll get the same teacher again.
