Wait times for Villains and Little Mermaid at DHS

How far in advance do you need to show up to the new Villains or Little Mermaid shows at DHS in order to get in for a particular show time? Our touring plan has us arriving 7 minutes before the Villains show starts, but I would think that would be cutting it awfully close to being able to get in/seated and not be cut off and have to wait for the next showing.

Each of these shows run approx. every 40 mins. You could arrive when your TP suggests but it may be full when you arrive or, you will be sitting towards the back. (We sat towards the back for both of these shows and were totally okay with the view.) Personally I would attempt to arrive at least 10 mins before those shows but more time is better if you can.

OP, you should also take into consideration that even though your touring plan says you will arrive seven minutes before the show, there could be hiccups in your schedule that cause you to arrive before or later than that seven minute mark. Attractions can go down without notice, wait times can be longer or shorter than expected, mealtimes can take longer than planned . . . it’s pretty difficult to stick to a schedule by the minute when so many things will be out of your control. I would build a little bit of buffer time into the schedule if it were me. Even having a fifteen minute buffer at some point during the day can make a difference if something throws the schedule off.

Actually 30 minutes may be a much better amount of leeway… so you can ensure your party is together for the shows…

Thanks all! Good to know. Yes, I always pad time into the touring plans for adjustments since there's always something that pops up. Will definitely pad time in to the show waits.

On my next trip to DHS, I want to prioritize seeing 3 shows, Frozen ever after (haven't seen it in about 10 years), the new Villians Show, and the new Little Mermaid Show. I know the times of the shows, but am I pretty much guaranteed to get in to any show I show up for? And how far ahead would you recommend I show up? I'll be going in late January, not a busy time, if that matters. And it'll be a solo trip-no big party with me.

We were in DHS this past Wednesday and saw all three shows. Both Frozen and the Villains show have large theaters. The Little Mermaid theater is smaller. All three shows have many performances. We didn't have any trouble getting into the shows. The Villains show and Little Mermaid shows last about 15 minutes. We went to the early performance for each show and never had to wait more than 20 minutes.

When I was there this past summer, you could not just walk into the Villains show. You had to get there about 30 minutes ahead. Once you are in the (outside) waiting area, look to the left. That part of the waiting area has fans and umbrellas for shade. The doors open about 20 minutes ahead. The cast member said that sometimes there were technical difficulties and the first show would get cancelled. Maybe things are going more smoothly now. The inside feels like a theatre for a Broadway show.

For the Little Mermaid show, I was able to just join the line for the show I wanted to see.

For the First Time In Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration is not hard to get into. Of the three, that's my favorite. I see it every time I visit. The "historians" don't say the exact same lines every time, which makes it fun.

When I was at DHS in July, we waited 20+ minutes outside for the LM show and were too far back in line to see that show. We did not want to wait another 30 minutes, so we bailed. The LM show is now a LLMP, so that could help. We were able to see the LM show later in the week, but we also waited quite a bit, however, most of the wait was indoors in a/c, so that helped.

I know no one asked, but I much preferred the original LM show in the same theater. So much so that it'll be quite a while before I go back.

The Villains show is another thing altogether. Loved it. Waited about 30 minutes in line before the show to get a good seat. Well worth the wait.

The other show at DHS that I love is Beauty & the Beast onstage. We usually get an LLMP for that so we can sit near the front.

I don't think the Frozen show is hard to get into. The theater is huge.

Frozen Ever After is at EPCOT. There’s a different Frozen-related sing along at DHS.
