Wait times for Hollywood Brown Derby lounge?

What is the wait like for a table in the lounge section of the Hollywood Brown derby? I'm thinking of trying around 7:00/7:30 pm when we're there in a couple weeks. I have an ADR for the restaurant, but think we would might prefer the lounge. I just don't want to cancel my ADR if the chances of us getting a table in the lounge are slim to none around that time.

We've eaten there twice, once on a trip a a week and a half ago and once last August. Both time we ate around 6:30 and got a table right away. I don't know if this is the norm or just luck though..

The BD LOUNGE is that small area next to the BD that primarily serves a glass of wine, has a few tables OUTSIDE. Biggest downside: NO AIR CONDITIONING. May NOT be a problem in January .

If you HAVE a ressie for the main dinning room? Just a guess on my part.... "a couple of weeks" is going to be mid July . I would KEEP the Main Dining Room ressie.

Good point. I was thinking it would be bearable to sit outside by 7:00/7:30, but you're likely right. I think I'm forgetting just how hot it was when we were there last year. I was just concerned about catching the Frozen Fireworks at 9:30 since my ADR is at 8:00.

Good point Dean, it'll be hot!!! I didn't think of that! Although they do have much more than just wine, both times we've been there they've offered us the full menu as well as the lounge menu which has some awesome offering on it as well!

That's what I had read and why I was considering it. I don't want my daughter to miss the fireworks at 9:30, and thought we could get into the lounge to eat sooner than my 8:00 ADR. It's on my birthday and I really want to try the BD for dinner. I never considered that eating outside might be too hot though.

I'd keep the reservation. Right now half the patio is under construction and there are only 4-5 tables with maybe 2 seats at what is kind of a make-shift bar. And, as mentioned & very important in July, no air conditioning. No cover, either, in the event of evening storms. When we were there last month it was managed inconsistently. When we arrived there was no CM at the entrance and no one in line. The family at the first table told us it was first come first serve & that they'd be leaving soon. But before they left, a CM came up & told us there was a wait list. We added our name to the list and went up to the bar. While at the bar, the CM at the entrance disappeared and 2 more tables opened and were scooped up by walk-ins.

All that said, great restaurant. One of my favorites!

Is there no longer a bar at HBD? There used to be one upstairs but I don't remember seeing one last time we were there.

I thought I had read there are a few tables inside? I've never been, but was considering going for our April trip. Maybe not if it's going to be miserable to eat outside.
