Wait times for FJ

We are going to be in Orlando Tue-Sun Jun 4-10. I realize it's getting close to busy season, and I'm trying to figure out wait times and such to minimize frustration.

I have 2 guidebooks - Unofficial Guide Beyond Disney (2011) and Universal Orlando 2012. Realizing that there is a difference of 1 yr in the publication dates and that WWOHP was less than a year old when the UG was written, how accurate are the wait times they are posting for FJ (3+ hrs w/o Express Pass)? The writer also indicates that wait times posted in the lines are frequently wildly inaccurate; is this still true?

Universal Orlando 2012 doesn't talk too much about wait times, and barely mentions the timed entry that UG spends a lot of time on. Since it is a more current publication, is this b/c wait times have calmed down?

Obviously, if the UG is still pretty accurate, it's going to affect the way we plan our day, pretty much relegating WWOHP to late evenings.

I also have the UT wait time app on my android. Is it considered to be fairly accurate?

Thanks so much!

Forbidden Journey does not have express pass at all..Wait times even during slower times of year can reach 60 mins.Nowhere near 3 hrs it was at opening.Since we stayed onsite,we had early entry and hit WWoHP in the morning.Resort guests get into the park 1 hr before day guests.LAter in the day WWoHP does die down a bit.We saw no waits for early entry and then mid day waits 45-60mins.Later in the evening 20 mins.Longest lines were Forbidden journey and Ollivanders

The wait time can depend on what day of the week and what time of day you choose to go. There were times this past Wednesday when the wait was only 10 minutes. This was mid-afternoon. On the Monday before, however, it went up to an hour around the peak time of day (11 AM-1 PM).

Since early June is beginning to get into the busy season, my guess would be 60-90 minutes in the late morning/early afternoon.

we went during Spring Break -

we noticed the wait time listed, got in line - and timed it - I think it was a 45 list time, but actual wait time was less (30 min?)

If the line looked longer we would take advantage of the single rider line - go around to the store, drop off stuff in lockers, and head over to single rider line.

Thanks to all for the responses. I'm ok with 60-90 minutes for a ride, but I will never again wait 3 hrs for something (The Beast, when it first opened at King's Island - dating myself soooo badly). I was young and stupid the last time, and didn't have to entertain 2 tweens in line, being one myself.

Our first day we'll be arriving at the condo around lunchtime on a Tue. I'm thinking we'll try FJ that evening, late, and then use the single rider line from then on.

If you go around 7pm, and the wait time says 60 - 90 min - don't stress - go for it!!

and there is so much to see in the line - so maybe plan on doing the line again!

We did the castle tour our first night we should've gone ahead and stayed in the regular line and rode it that night!
