Wait Listing Question

I will be calling MS, next Monday, to change my current reservation at BCV. I was going to change to OKW, but we loved BWV so much I really want to stay there again. If there isn't availabilty, how does the wait list work? Can I be on the list for both standard (which I would rather have...keeping points down for our trip next year) and preferred? To be sure I get a room, do I keep my current reservation for the one bedroom at BCV, and, if the wait list comes through, cancel it. I only have 150 points...well, since I borrowed 50 for our June trip, really 100, that I'll get in October. Help!

Yes, you can waitlist for both standard and prefferred view at the same time.

I would keep your current reservation, so you at least have a reservation somewhere. I also suggest using the day-by-day waitlist instead of the whole time at once. You are much more likely to get your reservation this way, but it is also a gamble. You could end up with a day here and two days there which means moving during your reservation if all the days do not come through.

I think you have a great chance at a prefferred room and a good chance for standard esp. if you utilize the day-by-day waitlist.

Only you can decide if the gamble is worth it. I did this just last year at BCV for late Oct only 2 months out. I decided to use the day-by-day, and I had my reservation in 2 weeks time! It was scary having 2 days and 1 day and 2 days all spit up between 2 resorts, but in the end it came together. I was shocked at how quickly it did too! You have many more months for the waitlist to work for you, but it is sometimes frightning to have your reservation all over the place like that esp. if you do not want to move.

Thanks, Kathy. After thinking about it, I'll keep my reservation at BCV, and wait list for the standard view at BWV. They are both, pretty much, in the same area!

IMHO, that is a good plan. You can cancel days at BCV as the days come through at BWV. (From reading your first post, I see you do not have enough points to keep the entire BCV reservation while you wait for the BWV waitlist to come through). If you do have to move (worst case), at least you will be in the same general area and thus moving would not be as hard.
