Wait List

We are going to Florida and have reservations at OKW for February 15th thru the 23rd. Our home resort. We would like to try for BW Standard view studio for those dates. What do you think our chances are of getting it and should I try day by day or wait to the 23rd of July and go for the whole thing and just wait list. Thanks for input.

I can't really say since I've never been in February, but there are several of us that have posted about our waitlists on the DVC Community Board forum. Many people have had good luck. Our good friends over there keep sending pixie dust our way and I think it's helping.

I would call day to day just to make sure you definitely get the Std. view. I called day to day for Jan.22-27 and had to waitlist for the night of the 26 for the std. view and I thought that Jan. would be easy to get considering it is a slower month. Good Luck and Pixie Dust to you!!!!

I think you have a really good chance of getting it. I am a believer now that the waitlist does work! After a month of waiting, our waitlist came thru for VWL during XMAS for 9 nights! VWL is like the most populuar resort at XMAS. So get on the list.

Well, as you know, that weekend is Presidents' Day, and the beginning of School vacation week in much of New England and parts of NY, so lots of folks from up here heading down there. We are BWV owners and made our ressies at 11 months, tho we're staying at VB over Presidents' Day, heading to BWV on the Tuesday 2/21. We have both Std View 2BR and Studios reserved for then, as we weren't quite sure of the size of the party. As that time approaches, I expect we will cancel the studio (2/21-2/25) so there will we some lucky waitlister getting that Std View for those nights. I would imagine that the hardest night to get will be the Sunday (2/19) as the combination of low Std View points and the Holiday weekend conspire to limit Std View availability.

I'd definately waitlist day-by-day and see if you can be first in line for any cancellations. Another thought might be to move part way thru, taking any available BWV Std Views that might become available at one end or the other of your stay. For example, if you're first in line if and when we cancel the nights of the 21-25, you can snag the last two nights of your stay at BWV, but keep your OKW ressie for the first part.

When I tried for standard view at the Boardwalk for 7 nights, 3 were taken. so, I am on the wait list for our mid-December trip. I'll let you know if it works out. I figured it couldn't hurt to try.
