Wait List

We are bcv members....and I called today to make our summer travel plans and it turns out that we are on a wait list for a dedicated 2 bedroom on the 2nd night of our stay....meaning that we may have to move out of our dedicated 2 bdrm for one night and then check back in the next! Has anyone ever been on a wait list and gotten their request? It is such a risk....and I do not want to have to move with all our gear in tow....how likely is it that we will be able to stay put?

Also, are there any great dedicated 2 bedrooms that are close to both the main lobby (quiet pool) and have a view of Epcot?

I can't answer your question regarding how many dedicated 1BRs there re close to both the main lobby and have a view of Epcot, however I can reply about the wait list.

Earlier this month, on the 4th or 5th, we decided that we would like to have a 1BR instead of a studio for Spring Break. When I called MS, there were no IBRs available at OKW for 3 of our 5 nights. I waitlisted for the entire week, didn't want to deal with day by day and asked them to call me.

I just happened to call on the 12th (I think) to check if something had come available and I was told that my wait list had just become available that day and they hadn't even had time to call me yet. So we were able to get what we wanted with about 3 months notice for Easter week. So the wait list does work.

However, since you have so many requests, you might be setting yourself up for disappointment. If you go on the waiting list for a dedicated 2 BR, I don't believe they will guarantee any specific location. You may get a ded. 2BR that doesn't meet any of your other requests.

We were waitlisted for marathon weekend this year about 7 months out and it never came through. No DVC of any size, at any hotel, no special requests etc. We had to pay cash. Bummer Hope you have better luck.

If you wanted to avoid moving rooms and were willing to pay cash if you did not get the missing night for points, you could check if the missing night is available for cash (preferably with DVC discount) and still wait list that same night for a points ressie. If the dedicated 2BR were available for cash, MS can link the cash and points ressies and you would not have to move. If the point ressie came through from waitlist, your cash ressie would be automatically cancelled. We have used this strategy twice (once in July 2006 and for our upcoming trip in March 2007) and in both cases the waitlist came through.

I was on the wait list for BW, for March of this year. I booked in Sept. and had to go the wait list for 7 of my 11 days, they all came through within a month. I wanted to add 2 more days to our stay so I called and it was not available so again I go on the waitlist, The next day I called to check on it and was able to get one of the days, a week later they called me and added the other day and we are less then 2 months away.
So hang in there go on the list, you do have a good chance getting it.

I called a few times a week to check on it and that's how I got must of days.
Sometime I got a cm that didn't want to be bothered so I just called back later that day.
Ask them to check and you will take whatever days that are available during your stay even if it broken up. You will have a better chance of getting all the days that way, take each day the comes up.

Just curious, did they have lockoff 2 bedrooms available and you only had to waitlist for the dedicated one? I'v waitlisted a couple of times and have always gotten them, but I never go during a busy time of year (like holidays and I never waitlist during F&W). Good luck!

I had the same issue, where I was waitlisted for a dedicated 2 bedroom at BCV in Dec. I was going to have to move and then move back. Arrghh. It came through. So hang in there! Pixie dust to you!
