Wait List Success

For those of you that have used wait list, did you get your request? If more than one pick the majority.

I waitlisted in May for SSR studio, got it approx. 33 days out.

I just got a call that my SV BWV 1bdr for the entire week of Sep 26-Oct 3rd is available. This is the first weekend of the F&W festival.

Same call also told me that a 1bdr at VWL Dec 16-22nd was avail.
(I booked a studio)

We're waitlisted now for a single studio view at BWV, so our son doesn't have to change rooms. Right now, he has preferred, Boardwalk, preferred. It's our first time on a waitlist.

Should the ressies (there are 3 reservations numbers) state that we are on a waitlist for the desired outcome?

We're wait listed for VWL in October. No luck yet, but it'll be interesting to hear how everyone else does!

dvc generally does not offer you a resort where you aren't on the wait list.

if you have long enough the wait list generally works.

I like the day by day list - not the entire time (much to hard to get) - but hey everyone is different!!!

Spiceycat what do you mean by day by day list? Do you call every day?

Is there another type of list?

Day by day....

You book you 5 night stay at your home resort... then ask to be waitlisted for each night individually.. meaning Monday and Friday might come in... then your still waitlisted for Tuesday- Thurs.. then Weds comes in... and so on..

If you book at the 7 month mark you have a good chance of getting the whole ressie in time....

If you waitlist the whole ressie, then all of the 5 days must open up at once before you can get it....

Only day we couldn't get at Thanksgiving time was actually Thanksgiving Day at OKW. They just called Friday and we got it!

I was able to book 4 nights BWV standard view studio and waitlisted for the fifth night. Confirmation received today.

I am 50/50 so far...although the waitlist is still pending, so maybe that's not an accurate statement. We are waitlisted for the first and last night of our early Oct. stay at BWV (preferred view). After reading this thread, I called and found the first night has come through, now we just need 10/7....I am a little worried because we have booked our airfare already, so I really hope it comes through. Otherwise we will have to move and stay somewhere else for our final night.

At 5 months I waitlisted for a VWL studio, one night (Sat) in early December. (The night before our cruise ) I didn't really expect to get it because VWL is so popular in Dec, but it came through in less than a month!

We're 1-for-1 on the waitlist. Called to book a Studio for three nights about 3 mos out. Got OKW, but waitlisted for BWV Preferred View. Waitlist came through less than 2 weeks later.

We also booked a BCV Studio for a Saturday in December about 4 months out. Initially we were going to take the BWV studio that was available and waitlist for BCV. When I asked to go on the waitlist, MS ended up putting me on hold and was able to pull a BCV Studio back from CRO inventory. No need to even waitlist in this situation.

We just found out today that we had one that succeded for this Thanksgiving.

I had one for New Year's 2 years ago for a standard view 2BR at the BWV that didn't but we still ended up with the standard view room.

I was waitlisted for one night after calling exactly 11 months in advance. It never came through but the CM's at the front desk worked it out so we didn't have to move. I'm guessing that someone got a preferred view that was supposed to be mine for that one night.

I got our waitlist just today. Had a studio at VWL for T-day thru 12/1. Got home from BWV last week-end and really wanted to upgrade to a one-bedroom. Called on Monday but there was nothing open. So, I waitlisted for any resort other than OKW. MS called today with a one bedroom at BWV pool/garden view. She told me that they had put it together day by day, but when I accepted it, she put it as one reservation. WE are doing the happy dance here!!! We are 2 for 2 using the waitlist.

Woo-hoo. Now someone else will be thrilled with their VWL Studio waitlist coming through, too!
