Wait List Success Streak!

I've read mixed reports on wait lists in my time on the DVC DIS, and so we made our recent wait list requests with only tepid hope. However, I can report that both have come through, each after being on the WL for 4-6 weeks:

-- WL 4 nights in a BLT lake view studio for August (reserved 4 nights in an SSR studio) 3 months out from trip

-- WL 4 nights in a BWV standard view studio for early December (reserved 4 nights in a garden/pool view) 6 months out from trip

Maybe we just got lucky, or maybe the wait list can be relied upon to some extent... in either case, we're happy to be 2 for 2!

I've never been on a 5 night waitlist before, but I am now, and it's for BLT. Congratulations to you! I hope we get ours!

We use the waitlist often and have had much success, even during the busy Food and Wine weeks. It is never guaranteed, but in 5 years we have only had one day not come in.

I seldom ever get on the waitlist either, but did for late January. We wanted BWV-standard studio and all but one night was available. I booked the BCV for now. I wanted 6 nights at the BWV vs 5 nights at the BCV for the same points. I'm not optimistic, but do find myself checking often.

I have had waitlists come through in the past. However, I have one night waitlisted for a GV for early December. It is our last night with the whole family, so I do hate to move, but if we have to it wont be the end of the world. I am happy I got a GV at all since it is not my home resort.

Congratulations!!!! What nights in August came through for BLT? I am waiting on August 7th and 8th. WL just went in a few weeks ago so not too hopeful, but maybe if yours came through around those same dates, maybe, just maybe, I still have a chance!

I have 2 waitlists for Sept 26-Oct 3, one for a 1 bd SV AKV, and a 1bd VWL. We would be very happy with either, so I am hoping we can snag some of your luck as well. We just booked it this week. We have an OKW 1bd right now, which will be fine because at the very least we will be in Disney!

We were waitlisted for August 15, 16, 17, 18... you probably have a decent shot. As they sell points, they periodically declare new units in batches.

We have 2 waitlists for BCV~ both 2BR configurations.....we are going down next month. Our waitlists have always come through for us, but since we are waiting for an entire week, I do not think it will. It's OK (I guess ) we ARE still going to WDW that is the important thing!

I will still take some though!!

Made one waitlist for AKV 12/27-1/1 - at exactly 7 months - will be really surprised if it comes through (have OKW backup)

Made waitlist for THV in mid Feb. for 12/27-1/1 - will be amazed if it comes through ( have 2BR a SSR just in case)

Have waitlist for 2BR Kidani 9/30-10/4 about a month ago when everyone started changing the plans for the Christmas week trip.- Have 2 BR OKW but sure would like to get this one - it will be youngest grandchild's first WDW visit and will also have 4 and 7 yo DGs so seeing the animals would be great. Maybe I should have tried for BLT.

Have had luck in the past even for Christmas week and NYE so am hoping the same will hold true this year.

Hopefully someone here on the DIS got their WL for 2BR at BCV for 12/27-1/1 when I gave up that reservation to make the Sept/Oct reservations.

Thanks, so this is normal right? I never do waitlist, but decided to try for my January trip and since it's a quiet(er) week I thought I might be lucky.

I had a 2 day waitlist for BLT this year 11/30-12/1 and I think I checked online about 3 times a day for two weeks. Then I got busy and wasn't home for 3 days and didn't check and when I went back on - I had gotten it! It's funny that it came through when I wasn't obsessing over it!

We are already booked at OKW but would like a change this year....

We're relatively new members (just about a year), but so far have had great luck with the waitlists. Able to get a reservation at BWV over Christmas last year, BCVs in October this year, both using the waitlist. Currently we are waitlisted for three days in December for VWL. (We have a 6 day trip scheduled mid-December at OKW, but decided to add on 50 points this weekend . Able to change the last three days to VWL, so we're waitlisted for the first three.

We're still not very good at planning 7-11mos ahead, but we're getting better.
