Wait List is annoying

So we have 3 nights booked at OKW in October..the 16th, 17th & 18th and we wanted to add the 19th which was not available. So now I wait list the WHOLE thing and every day I go online and check stuff and today I see the 19th is available so I booked it.

Questions:
1) Can I call up Member services and have them consolidate that last night into my first res? I don't want to risk having to switch rooms for one night.
2) Why do they do it this way?

I feel like you used to just be able to WL the days you needed. It is very likely that I could have missed out on that last night because the 1st 3 did not become available even though I already have them booked. Very frustrating, I find this worse than just WL the whole stay. Ex: we had this trip booked at SSR and none of the days were available at OKW so we WL those 3 nights and then they all came thru but this adding days business like this is nonsense.
Similarlry we have our August week WL for Hospitality House and now all but the first 2 days are available but I'm notgoing to book those because I don't want to unpack twice.

My 7 month window is coming up for Christams week gonna try to BWV or OKW for the space and I am stressing it badly!

Is this the way WL was always done or am I hallucinating?

MS can add the new to your existing. I prefer to send them instructions via the member website,

You will usually have better waitlist luck looking for 1 day instead of 4.

It doesn't match partials only your exact request.

If you already have the 1st 3 days booked, you only have to wait list the 4th day. If and when it becomes available, you can call Member Services and they will link it all under 1 reservation so that you don't have to change rooms.

I don't know why I didn't do I that way but I was lucky to stumble upon the day we needed on my own. I will shoot an email to consolidate.

And cancel the waitlist

The waitlist process seems to be rather stone age. Sometimes I picture them with index cards and post it notes trying to make matches.....
