I'm wait-listed for 12/29/04 - 1/2/05 for either BWV or BCV (any view) --

We've been on the list for a few months and I'm really beginning to doubt we will be able to secure these nights, especially 12/31. Has anyone had luck with the waitlist for this busy week? We have made reservations off-site (just in case)!!

Thanks...

Have you waitlisted for the individual nights or just the whole block? You might also want to consider including the other DVC resorts. BWV and BCV tend to be booked by people who turn around and rent out the nights so that makes it even trickier to get a reservation. Getting 12/31 will be the most difficult and could end up not happening. The more options you have the better your chances of having it come through.

On the plus side -- We're still pretty far away from Christmas/NYE for people to cancel. The cancellations tend to happen closer to the date when people realize they aren't going to be making the trip for one reason or another.

We are wait-listed for the 4 nights together. I didn't want to take a chance on getting one or two nights of the four.

Perhaps I'll call and wait-list for all the resorts. We've never stayed at WLV, OKW, or SSR. We are BWV owners.

Thanks for your help Pam...

I was told by MS last week the only availability is at OKW!

Good luck with your waitlist but only after mine comes thru!LOL

;)

But then I'm waiting for a one bedroom at BCV for 12/31!

Stephen, you can book what's available and then continue to waitlist for the other choices. You'll just have to make sure you cancel before you re-book (unless you have enough points to cover both without them borrowing).

Pam, thanks for your help, but I'm borrowing 2005 points and I don't want to get into a cancellation dilemma.

Scratch 42 -- Good luck with your 1BR...

Okay...this is how stupid I am!! I saw the title of this thread, and went, "Oh how cool...I didn't know WDW had a "Bill Nye the Science Guy week". I was reading to find out when it was!! I definitely need to get out more!!!

I just booked a studio for NYE 2 weeks ago with no problem. We had our choicie of SSR and BCV. We own at both and decided to stay at SSR. We are only there for one night before a cruise. We wanted to see the spectacular NYE fireworks at PI. You may want to try SSR

Good Luck

OMG Beca, I was thinking exactly the same thing! In fact, I just now read this thread because I had to know what was such a big deal about hanging out with Bill Nye!!!

Too funny!

Beca, as an elementary school science teacher I was thinking what a great idea that "Bill Nye" week sounds. On the other side we are waiting for our closing papers so that we can try to get a one bedroom anywhere the week after Christmas. I hope we close soon!

I would strongly suggest that you waitlist for each night individually. You'll have a higher chance of all your nights coming through eventually (over the course of the next few months) than if you wait for the whole block to be available at once. I've never not gotten my waitlists this way, even at busy times of the year.

Also, why not try waitlisting at the other resorts? You could always reserve at SSR or OKW and still hang onto the BWV and BCV waitlists in case they open up.
