Wait list came through, no email?

In the shock of all shocks today, I found out that my one-night wait list for a Beach Club studio in October came through :woohoo:. But is it normal that the system never sent me a confirmation email? Before anyone asks, yes, I checked my spam folder.
 
The same thing happened to me for a wait list I had in June at BLT. I kept checking on my account every few days and found it there one day. I never did see any form of communication to know I had gotten it.
 
When my wait list came through last month I did get an email. One that I overlooked because at first glance it appeared to be just a duplicate of the original reservation. :surfweb:
 

Might want to check your spam folder. When mine came through a few weeks ago, I didn't get an email but when i searched gmail to make sure I didn't miss it, it was in my spam folder.
 
I never got an e-mail for the extra day I had wait listed at OKW, I was checking my account for something else and noticed that the day was there. I checked my spam and regular e-mail account, nothing.
 
My daughter's waitlist came through today. Got their 1 bedroom BWV standard. They did get an e-mail.
 
Got an email for the waitlist that came through this week for one day in Oct. at SSR. As PP said it looked like a duplicate of the original reservation. It did not say that my waitlist came through just that they were excited to help me with the magic of my upcoming vacation. I clicked on the link and then found out the waitlist had come through. Now if the one for my son's one night before his honeymoon cruise would just come through. Yes - we do have a backup but would really like to get that BCV studio for the one night.
 
I have never gotten an email when a waitlist comes through. I only ever know when I log in the member site.
 
I have had a wait list come through and one time did get an updated email. This past week, I got a hard copy showing the wait list filled (although I already knew from checking online).
 
I keep hoping that our wait list has been filled but that our email was not sent so I login to the member website only to be disappointed. Glad some of you have had better luck than I have! :thumbsup2

Disney has trouble with communication, email and US Mail. Sometimes we don't receive either, or we receive extras, or we get someone else's mail. I am primary on our accounts but sometimes we get mail sent to DW. Lately we keep receiving the thank you mailing for our WDW visit. Sometimes it has our name on it and sometimes someone else's.

I used to send email to Member Satisfaction trying to correct their mailing lists but after several attempts I was finely told by a honest CM that they don't know how to fix it. They don't know who controls the lists and most of the time the mailings are sent by a sub contractor.

I was told that the reservation and wait list notifications have to be requested by a CM, they aren't automatic.

I'm another who didn't receive an email confirmation when the waitlist came through.

It's such a good feeling when, after checking the waitlist countless times, you see you have actually got what you want :goodvibes
 
I too did not get the email and I check my spam folder daily. We were pleasantly surprised when I logged in to see it came through!

My waitlist came through yesterday and I did get an email. Can't explain why some of you are not getting them.
 
I called today, to cancel a march reservation, and they told me that my Oct WL came thru, no email though.

I also know I clicked for the WL to replace an existing reservation, and they told me that was messed up, and they had me in for 2 rooms (same resort, same days, same size room, just different category/view). I 100% KNOW I clicked the "replace existing reservation" option, or whatever it is.

so I got my new room location at least. I have one more WL, I will keep an eye on the site for it though.
 
I had an one night waitlist for BCV and had requested that SSR points be used and free up the BLT points. Well, today was the last day for banking so I called to say since I was banking any leftover points, just use the BLT points if the waitlist came thru. The CM says "let's look at your account,,,,hmmmm you have two waitlists, one came thru for the 28th....." I'm "it did, when did that happen??? She said it doesn't say the date is came thru. Well, anyway, we got the day we wanted and I was able to have them use SSR points before I had to bank everything.
