Wait List & Borrowing Points

If you need to borrow points to complete a reservation but you are not able to get the reservation up front and need to waitlist for it, does DVC borrow the points for the waitlist or do they wait until the waitlist comes through? I am afraid that if they borrow the points for the waitlist and the waitlist does not come through, my points will expire before I can use them. If anyone has any information on this subject, please chime in. Thank you.

Points are only borrowed if they are need to confirm a reservation. When the waitlist is setup, they will ask you if it's okay to borrow points if necessary.

Points are only borrowed when the reservation that actually uses them is being made.

In addition, you must tell MS that it's OK to borrow points (if needed) when making the waitlist request. MS notes it on the waitlist.
