For those that have read my previous posts. I had initally made ressies at BWV for the week before Easter for DD25 and myself. We really wanted to be close to Epcot since that is our favorite park. I had visions of myself just wandering over there each afternoon and hanging out. Well I got to reading the posts about construction at BWV and called MS to see if I could switch to BCV. Well BCV was full and without even thinking when the MS person said VWL was available I said switch us to there. Stupid move. We really want to be near Epcot this trip. VWL is a nice resort and is in fact our home resort, but we've stayed there the last two trips. Well I called back the next day and guess what BWV is now full. I am now on the wait list for both BWV and BCV. I guess my question is - is that all I can do. Would calling each day do anything or is the wait list it when the resorts are full?

In theory, that's all you can do. As rooms become available, the requests on the waitlist are satisfied on a first come, first served basis.

That said, I have read posts from people on the waitlist who called just to double-check the status, and out of the blue the CM was able to find a room. Could be fortunate timing...or perhaps something else.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to call periodically. But if the CM tells you that you are on the waitlist and there simply isn't anything available, there's nothing else you can do.

tjkraz just described my experience. I have called and discovered a room was available. It really doesn't hurt to call every once in a while and inquire.

I waitlist for my block of dates and then follow up periodically by calling.

If you are not waitlisted day by day, then it can take a little longer for your dates to free up. Even if 4 of 5 days open, you wont get a call because that fifth day didnt open yet, so MS won't hold those days for you, they will go into inventory.

So I do both, waitlist and call.

So there's waitlisting day by day, or by block of dates or calling and putting your ressie together a few days at a time.

I've had WONDERFUL success with the waitlist. As your dates get closer, Im sure something at either BCV or BWV will become available. My waitlist came thru for NYE's so lots of Pixie Dust your way!

If you don't mind the chance of possibly splitting your stay, you could call every few days to see if one of the adjacent days are available. For instance, if you are looking for a Sunday - Friday stay, call and see if Sunday or more are available. Then once you have Sunday, call a few days later or the next day and see if Monday is available yet. If it is, add it on. Keep doing this until you have all of the days. This was recommended to me by two different MS CMs. The reason for doing this is that unless ALL of your days in waitlist become available at one time, they will not switch your reservation over. BUT, you could call and do a day-by-day switch. I hope this makes sense...
