Waht is your gas mileage with your rv, 5thwheel, pop-up?

31' Snowbird 5th wheel pulled by '95 Dodge 2500 V-10
Average mostly around 8mpg. Pulled 5th Wheel to Yellowstone last year and just got back from Worlds of Fun in KC and both averaged about the same.

We have a Suburban Z71 and pull a Jayco 29A Bunkhouse with Double Slides. We are pretty much in-line with the majority here in that we get between 8 & 10 mpg (although it's closer to 8). Although we live in Orlando and usually camp at FTW, we are making the trek to Stone Mountain in Georgia this weekend (for 4th of July week) to camp with some friends of ours. We we very close to calling it off since we'll be spending hundreds of $$ on gas, but we bought the trailer to camp and figured it's still cheaper than flying up to GA, renting a car and staying in a hotel.

Happy Camping.

The best we have achieved with our Class A Diesel so far is 13mpg. We went though the mountains on our last trip, so I can't say we did well on gas.

I don't even want to know. I do know we can fill up at home and 409 miles later when we arrive at Fort Wilderness, we have about 1/4 of a tank left.

Happy Camping!

Same here... We just bought a Class A (gas) and I told my DH not to worry about the milage. I know that gas is out of control but there is nothing that we can do about it.

We have a 2005 Chrysler T&C with a tow package and pull a pop-up, a Jayco 12HW. The profile of the camper closed up is still lower than the van itself. Normally, the van gets 20-21. Pullilng the camper, it gets 16-17. Okay by me!:cool1:

We have a 33 foot gas motorhome.

We get around 13 ........ 7.5 on the highway and 5.5 in the city!:) :)

We get around 10mpg with a Dodge 1500 Quad cab - 4.7L, pulling a 19' hybrid camper.

Whatever you do, if traveling on I-10 or I-75, DO NOT stop at Lake City, FL for gas. It has got to be the most expensive gas east of the Mississippi.

A couple weeks ago, gas was $3.19 for regular at every gas station we could find in the Lake City area. Contrast that to $2.86 at the Hess stations on Disney property the same day. IMO, the FL AG needs to investigate those Lake City stations for price gouging.

BTW - I was surprised that gas on Disney property was so cheap (relatively speaking). We only found one other place cheaper in FL, and that was a Flying J west of Tallahassee.

I, too, was very surpirsed when I discovered the gas stations on Disney property were about the cheapest gas around. I didn't think anything at all was cheap at Disney! When driving North on I95 (or coming South, for that matter), try to hold off on purchasing gas until you get to Georgia. Exit 1 and 2 in Georgia have some comparitively low-price stations, with good RV access.

2001 astro 4.3 2005 Kodiak 25QB 5000lbs. 19 mpg not towing 10.5 towing average.

2001 Honda Odyssey mini-van w/ towing package -- Viking pop-up (empty about 1,800 lbs).

1-2 people in van
19.5 mpg at home (not towing)
17.3 mpg towing (avg speed 75 mph from Mich-FL)

We try to keep our packing light ... stop at store once we arrive for bottled water, pop, beer, etc.

The vehicle owner's manual lists the towing weight and spells out what that includes (e.g. you can tow this much taking into account total passenger weight of ??). Your towing amount will decrease significantly if you have 6 adults as passengers.

Just some things to keep in mind.

After Hess took over the stations on Disney, the price dropped dramatically. Prior to this, the Disney gas was the most expensive in the area.

FWGuy I noticed that Hess is cheap too. I never paid attn. before I got my camper but I usually leave FW by going towards the MK so I can stop there. The one by the race track is the only diesel carrier of the 3 right near the hotels and parks. They completely renovated the station last year and it's really nice now.

Ditto the comments about the expensive gas in Lake City. Avoid stopping there at (literally) all costs. It's a huge rip. :rotfl:

I'm scared to death to check my mileage!

Thats how I feel, we pull a 38 ft holliday rambler with an F250 super Duty powerstroke diesel. If I keep it around 60-65 it seems to make a difference. If I had to guess ( and I do :confused3 ) I think we are getting around 12 mpg with the camper, w/o the camper about 18mpg.

I forgot to mention its a 5er

We have a 32 ft Gulf Stream with a V10 Triton and we average about 9 miles to the gallon. (Which is the same as 2 minivans at 18 mpg).I haven't towed my car yet so we will have to see if that affects the mileage on my next trip.

I usually gas up at that station the night before we leave FW, but it was all torn up our last trip so I had to use the one by DTD. I'm looking forward to seeing what it looks like this time around.

I got an average of around 11 1/4 on this trip with a 05 Chevy crew cab Duramax diesel pulling my 6400# 27 ft travel trailer. We had 3 teenagers and 2 adults in the truck, an Amigo scooter, a bar fridge, 3 bikes and a cooler.

The cheapest fuel between here and WDW is in Knoxville at the Flying J just before I75 heads south off of I40 (IIRC exit 369)

The fuel at the Hess at WDW (near the speedway) is by far the lowest in FL. I usually fill my small tank (26 gals) at the Flying J in GA MM #1. I found out the hard way that they dont take credit cards on the big truck pumps any more, only on the RV pumps. Since I wasnt willing to wait 30 minutes to fuel at the RV pumps I payed cash. On the way back I stopped at a at MM #5 in GA and got right in and out.
