I just won Cypress Pointe, 2 bedroom for July 3rd, 7nights!! I am sooo psyched!:yay::cool1: I am paying $400.02 for the entire 7 nights...:cheer2:
Now, can someone tell me about this place. I know where it is, but have never stayed there. Is there a certain section I should ask for like near the pool or can you see any fireworks from this resort, if so, where? TIA:thumbsup2

sorry about the error in my heading, don't know how to fix it.. it should read Cypress Pointe (not Grand)...

The Cypress Pointe Grand Villa resort is the second phase of Cypress Pointe. The buildings there ring around that section's pool, mini golf and resort store area. The link http://cypresspointe2.com/floorplans.html will take you to the page showing the villa layouts and the resort layout. Buildings A through G comprise the Grand Villas phase. Buildings A and G are placed nicely for quick access to either the phase I facilities, including the Volcano Pool, across the street or the phase II facilities (check in for either phase is in the clubhouse building marked with an X on the map). However, the resort is compact so there isn't a long walk from any building to any of the pools.

I don't know but rather doubt that you'd see fireworks from Cypress Pointe. If they have fireworks from Downtown Disney - as www.orlando-florida.net suggests but isn't confirmed elsewhere that I can find (they had them during our July 4th visit in 2007 but didn't have fireworks there last year) - it might be nice to watch from the Saratoga Springs resort side of the DTD lagoon.

thanks so much for the info.. I just found out it is in the Grand Villa's section, so that is the second phase.. no wonder why on my confirmation it states there may be some construction noise due to renovations.... oh well.. the noise won't bother me... :goodvibes
I stayed at Bonnet Creek next to one of the bldgs under construction..

As far as the fireworks go, I figured if I could see them from there, I would not go to the parks that night. I am a passholder, so if I have to go to see them, I am not "wasting" a day. The last time I was in the MK for the 4th was in 1976.. and back then it was called only "Disney World". I vowed I would never step foot in on the 4th again since it was mobbed. So far all these years of going, I have never went in for the 4th ;)

After looking at the floor plans, and reading all of what are in the units, I don't see that there are any TV's in the bedroom. If I am reading it correctly, it only has one.. and that is in the living room? Is that possible? I thought all timeshares had TV's in each bedroom... I have a portable one that runs on batteries, I may have to take that for one of the bedrooms. My DD and I never watch the same things...

No, that's not right. We stayed in a 2 BR Grand Villa unit in 2008 and there were televisions in the bedrooms and a really big one in the living room. In the master bedroom the television is the rectangle that's opposite the end of the bed. In the second bedroom the television is the smaller rectangle on the wall next to the closet (I think the tv sits on a bureau). The television in the living room is the rectangle that's angled in the corner sort of opposite from the couch - though the scale in the drawing is way off, the tv is one of those older big screen tvs.

Thanks so much for the info.. that explains it, I saw a dresser, but nothing indicating there was a TV on it. Some floor plans make some sort of notation or marking on the dresser area to show a TV..
and as far a TV on the wall, there aren't any indications there is anything on the wall.. thanks again.... :thumbsup2

We stayed there for two weeks end of Oct first week in Nov. If I were to stay there again, I would ask for a top floor unit, possibly pool side. We were staying on the parking lot side and I guess all the rude people were there too. It was extremely noisy. My grip was more of people honking their horns with construction. Although one morning we were up early for a breakfast reservation and good thing I was dressed. There was a guy on a lift outside the window replacing light bulbs at 7 in the morning. They definitely get an early start.

So your the one who outbid me on that auction! :rotfl2: Was a great price so enjoy your trip

Last I knew there were no televisions in the 2nd (two twin beds) bedroom. There is a large TV in the living room, one in the master and two in the renovation 3rd bedroom/lock off unit as I recall. There may be plans for a TV during the renovation of the 2 bedroom units, but that work is still in the planning stages with no units completed, only a model.

seriously???!!! :lmao: if so, sorry... didn't mean to slight a fellow DIS'er...;) but doubt that you are serious... :lmao:

but yeah, it is an awesome price.... that is just part of my "great deals" for the summer. I also won 4 nights in a 2 bedroom in Bonnet Creek for Aug 9-13th... $200 total :cool1: Then I managed to snag the Embassy Suites Lake Buena Vista for $65 a night starting July 25th for 7 nights. I only live 3 hours from Orlando and work in the school district so I have the entire summer off to play there...:thumbsup2 My total for all 3 of my trips come to $1114.02...and that is for 18 nights... way cheaper than staying onsite.. my days of doing that are done for now. I can get better deals in larger units off site than onsite. :goodvibes

Yep I am serious, you outbid me!! :rotfl2:
how far into it did I outbid you.. I was up for a while then "someone" came and started out doing me. I waited until just seconds left then placed my top bid in.. and that was how I won.
now that I told you my secret, I hope not to have to go up against you again.. there is another guy there who has this resort, but it is only for 4 days at a time, $299 or best offer... have you checked him out?

I was looking on their website and it shows the status of their renovations. From what I have found on that, it looks like the renovated 2 bedrooms have TV's in each room. It states that the 2nd bedroom now has a queen bed instead of 2 twins and a flat screen placed hanging on the wall since there is limited space in that room. I am thinking I may have to request one of those rooms. We are TV people. I for one cannot go to sleep unless I have a TV on.. I set the timer so it does go off, but only after I am asleep...;)

A Mickey Fan-congrats on your great Ebay win! I sell a few things on Ebay so I am familiar with it but I had never thought of buying hotel stays. It seems you have had success in the past with this-are you purchasing an unused timeshare week, similar to VRBO? I am always wary but I also love to great deals and usually use Priceline or Hotwire. If you dont mind are there any tips can you give me regarding legitimacy on Ebay hotel purchasing? Thaks in advance and sorry for hijacking your thread...:)

The tip is the same as with any bid, look at the sellers feedback (for selling). When you purchase from VRBO and other sites, it is the same, you are purchasing from an owner & taking a chance. With E-Bay, do as you do any bid, look at the sellers feed back, look at all other sellers with what you are looking for, watch them for a few days & bid towards the end....

They are timeshare owners and brokers that put the ad's on Ebay. There are some timeshare "tours" too that you can "buy now" there as well.
